Natascha McElhone Says Sons Take After Late Husband

Whittle/Kaminski/Splash News Online

In the cover story for the December issue of the UK’s Psychologies magazine, Natascha McElhone says that memories of her late husband Martin Kelly are never far, for so much of him lives on in the couple’s three sons Theodore, 9, Otis, 6 ½,  and Rex, 13 months. “Their brains are very much like Martin’s, thank God, because he had an extraordinary brain,” she muses.

Just like Martin, Theo is “a little chess fiend” who has “a fascination for science and how things work,” Natascha says. Otis and Rex, meanwhile, take after their dad in other ways.

“[Otis] has a lust for life, a contagious energy that was very much Martin’s,” the 37-year-old actress says, “and the baby…I think he looks like Martin, but I’m probably projecting wildly.” She adds,

“Martin is such a part of me now, and me a part of him. For example, I could never do an impersonation of him, whereas I could impersonate anyone else outside my family. It’s only when someone comes in from outside and says, ‘Oh God, he looked just like Martin when he did that.’ I see them every day, so it’s hard for me to be objective.”

As she forges ahead with single motherhood, Natascha feels good about the example she’s setting for her sons. “I’m happy their experiences of women so far are that they’re active and competent,” she explains. “I’m not saying I am…but the women I surround them with are all people like that.”

The Californication star is also quick to point out that the spotlight is firmly fixed on Theo, Otis and Rex. “I’m not the focus,” she says. “I’m the frame and they’re the picture and that’s how it should be.”

“The movie we’re watching is their life. Kids take parents for granted and I want them to take me for granted. I’m happy to be their wallpaper for as long as they want.”

Don’t look to Tiffani Thiessen to push the envelope when it comes to naming the baby she expects in May.

Although she admits that she and husband Brady Smith are “tooling around with a ton of names,” the couple “haven’t come up with anything solid yet.”

There’s already a working short list of “favorites” and while Tiffani didn’t divulge any details, she did reveal “they’re nothing crazy.” She adds,

“We’re very traditional people, me being from California and my husband from Texas. You’re not going to find any freaky names. I promise.”

Baby-on-the-way will be the first child for the 35-year-old actress and Brady, who married in 2005.

Heidi Klum Walks Runway – Six Weeks After Baby!

Richie Buxo/Splash News Online

Heidi Klum, who was supposed to be acting as host of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, drew screams from the crowd Thursday night when she made a surprise trip down the runway.

Clad in a corset and full skirt, the new mom, who gave birth to daughter Lou Sulola with husband Seal last month, smiled as she slowly took the runway for the surprise appearance.

“I figure why not? I embrace that I have more curves right now. I’m definitely one of the heaviest of the bunch of the 30 girls in the show. And I still have 20 lbs. to go,” she admits. “But why not? I like my outfit. I like the way it looks on me.”

Though she’ll be flaunting her curves, the mom of four kids (including Leni, 5, Henry, 4, and Johan, 3 tomorrow) says she’s happy that the pressure to really bare her body is off.

“You definitely have less pressure hosting, when you don’t shake your booty in front of millions of people around the world,” she said laughing.

Not that she’s slacking when it comes to getting into shape.

“There’s no master plan, but I have a trainer in L.A. who comes to my house,” the model and Project Runway host told PEOPLE. “She’s helping me so I don’t overdo it. I’ve been walking on the treadmill. Walking up and down the driveway. She has a medicine ball so she showed me things on there. You can’t do too much too early.”

As for her diet, “I’m not someone who eats salad and chicken,” explains Heidi, who says her biggest indulgence, a liter of milk a day, helped her gain 45 lbs. with her fourth pregnancy.

“I have a lot of heads around the table and if there’s not variety they get bored. I mean sometimes I have two to three things to serve and my daughter will be like, ‘That’s it, Mommy?’ So it’s fish one day, goulash the next day, spaghetti Bolognese, then schnitzel. I cook a lot.”

Cook, yes. Relax? Not so much. “I don’t relax and I don’t unwind,” Heidi says. “I have three children that couldn’t care less that I just had a baby. You don’t relax when you have four children at home that all want your attention, and it’s your duty as a mother to give it to them. My time to relax is when I’m sleeping!”

Hugh Grant On Future Fatherhood: ‘I Haven’t Given Up Hope’

Tags: Baby talk

Jane West/INF

Next September will be a big month for Hugh Grant: the actor will celebrate his 50th birthday. And although he has managed to rack up a laundry list of accomplishments over the years, Hugh now has his sight on something new — children!

“Ten years ago, I wouldn’t have thought about having children at all,” he admits to PARADE.

However, the proud uncle of “so many” nieces, nephews, and godchildren — including Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian — Hugh is growing fond of the idea of a family for himself. “Yes, yes, yes. I haven’t given up hope,” he confesses.

That said, his desire to have kids comes with a set of terms! “That’s on the basis that I can leave after 10 minutes,” he jokes.

“I don’t know what it would be like 24 hours a day. I think I’d have a lot of nannies.”

With the thought of a family on the horizon, Hugh is already forming his own opinions when it comes to raising children. “I see a lot of children over-parented now, by my standards,” he notes.

“Over-adored. Over-spoiled. I quite like the children left alone to get on with it.”

His approach to parenting leaves Hugh believing he will be a top-notch father. “Yes, I do rather,” he explains. “I find I’m not as bad with children as I used to be.”
