Matt Damon: NYC Allows My Family To Live a ‘Normal Life’
Dave Allocca/Startraks |
Matt Damon has traded in the Hollywood Hills for the streets of New York City — and says he prefers the metropolitan lifestyle the Big Apple offers his family.
“They’re all thriving. That’s why we’re so excited about it here,” he tells USA Today of daughters Alexia, 11, Isabella, 3 ½, and Gia Zavala, 18 months, and their adjustment to their new Manhattan hometown.
The paparazzi pursuit is considerably less so on the East Coast explains the actor, admitting that his family of five is able to live a lower-key lifestyle in the city.
“We walk to school every morning. We play in the park. It feels like a normal life,” he notes, adding that Isabella and Gia are oblivious to their father’s celebrity status.
And that, he says, is the reason the Damons won’t be moving any time soon. “We’re not leaving. Nobody bothers me,” he insists.
Isabella and Gia are Matt’s daughters with wife Luciana, while Alexia is her daughter from a previous relationship. His latest movie Green Zone is now in theaters.

Chris O’Donnell: Couple Time Is Crucial
Stephen Shugerman/Getty |
Father-of-five Chris O’Donnell and his wife Caroline find that going out as a group with their brood usually works best. However, the NCIS: Los Angeles actor is quick to point out that carving out alone time together is just as crucial.
Putting his advice to good use, Chris and Caroline recently returned from a trip for two in the desert. “It wasn’t a family trip — it was an adult trip — but ultimately it was a couple days with just the two of us,” he shares. “I think that’s really important.”
Fortunately, with lights out at 8 p.m. for Lily Anne, 10 ½, Christopher ‘Chip’ Eugene, 9, Charles McHugh, 6 ½, Finley, 4 this month, and Maeve Frances, 2, the couple need not travel far from home to unwind with a bit of one-on-one time each evening.
“They’re asleep … so that’s kind of our time,” he explains, adding that the same rings true for the weekends. “It’s not the worst thing to stay home on a Saturday night and hang out.”
Putting his children at the top of his list of priorities, Chris, 39, admits his responsibilities are made “a little bit easier” thanks to his wife and a nanny. That said, with his new show keeping him on a tight schedule, the actor has placed any extras — including the occasional game of golf — on hold to spend as much time with his family.
“As crazy as our lives are, the highs are so high and the lows are so low, but at the end of the day, you go home and you see these beautiful kids and nothing else matters,” he muses. “You’re grateful for what you have.”
And grateful he is, taking each opportunity to show his kids some extra love and attention — even if it means rearranging his plans! “Before I came here I was in Palm Springs and I was supposed to fly here from Palm Springs. I wasn’t feeling it,” he says.
“I’m like, ‘I’ve gotta see my kids before I go,’ so I drove to L.A. and I saw them for five minutes, and then I got on a plane, but it made the difference. I can’t handle being away from them that long.”

Naomi Watts Gives Us a Sneak-Peek of Target’s New Liberty of London Line!
Andrew H. Walker/Getty |
She may have two boys — Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, 2 ½, and Samuel Kai, 14 months — of her own, but Naomi Watts hit the girls’ racks at the Liberty of London for Target pop-up store launch on Wednesday in New York to shop for her 10-month-old niece.
“I’ve bought all sorts of dresses for her,” the actress told PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “Pretty dresses and a bikini — it makes me really want to have another baby, a girl, so I can dress her up a bit!”
At the event, Watts — and a select group of shoppers — browsed everything from cute mini sundresses and rainboots to elegant teapots and canisters in the signature floral prints British-based Liberty of London is known for.
“[As a kid growing up in London], I would go along Regent Street and look at the windows and dream about their fabrics,” Naomi recalled. “The patterns are so feminine and pretty.”

Kimora Lee Simmons: We Practice For Another Baby ‘All the Time’
![]() Fame |
Fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons‘ newest vision has nothing to do with sketches and fabrics for her line: the reality star is busy envisioning herself as a mother-of-four!
“We practice all the time and it’s a lot of fun,” she tells OK! of her plans to expand her family with Djimon Hounsou. “I can definitely see having more.”
So can her actor husband, who is looking forward to more kids — despite his first-time father jitters! “He’s totally amazing. It’s really changed his life,” Kimora, 34, notes. “Seeing him change a diaper and get up in the middle of the night … he’s very nervous.”
Already mom to two “very girly girls” with ex-husband Russell Simmons, Kimora is hoping to give her son Kenzo, 9 months, a baby brother. “I would love to have another boy,” she reveals. And if her wishes come true, Ming, 10, and Aoki, 7 ½, may find themselves placing their toys a few shelves higher.
“[Kenzo] wants to crash things and bash things. Boys are definitely rougher and more aggressive.”
Having shed “about 40 to 50 pounds” since giving birth, Kimora — who is “still working on her body” — insists she doesn’t get caught up in the numbers. Instead, she lets her clothes do the talking!
“I really go by how things fit,” she explains, adding that bouncing back after baby isn’t all about the weight loss. “It’s about peace of mind, healthiness and happy living,” Kimora says.
The season premiere of Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane airs Mar. 21st.

Look Out World: A Fun Travel Book & DVD for Kids!
Courtesy of Look Out World |
Now you — and your little ones — can discover the Big Apple without leaving your house thanks to interactive travel book and DVD, Look Out World: Here I Come! (New York) ($22).
Tour guides Otto (little boy), Blink (teddy bear) and Casey (suitcase) take you to visit all the major landmarks including Central Park, the Bronx Zoo, the Statue of Liberty and the Museum of Natural History.
You’ll also get to experience the city’s every day sights (busy sidewalks and streets) and sounds (honking cabs, moving subway cars) through bright and playful animation. There’s even a cute theme song!
We loved the 36 page activity book, which includes everything from a pizza recipe to instructions on how to build a mini Empire State Building. It’s a great teaching tool too. While your child is busy exploring, he’ll learn how to recognize shapes and colors and how to count.
We can’t wait for another adventure. Hurry up and join in! Next up is London, Paris and Shanghai.
