"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Julia Roberts

Babies:   Phinnaeus Walter Moder and Hazel Patricia Moder

Born: Nov. 28, 2004

Hospital:  Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, CA

Pregnancy Style:  Julia went for the more comfortable look during pregnancy, sporting mainly jeans, baggy pants, t-shirts, and big coats. This is understandable of course, she was having two babies!

Nanny or No:  She’s already fired two, so lets go with no!

Magcover1

What she really owns: Thumblina Snuggle Sack, Zooper Twin Stroller, Kee-Ka clothing, Shabby Chic Rocker, Lil’ Goat’s EssentialsGiftbox

Where she really shops: A small baby store in Taos, NM which remains unknown but she bought a blue and pink onesie there, babystyle in Santa Monica, Polkadots and Moonbeams Maternity in LA

Why we love her:  Julia waited until the right time in her career to have a child and didn’t try and juggle it all at once. She found a great man after many bad choices, and then settled down outside of Hollywood. Julia went through a bad pregnancy and several months of bed rest before giving birth early to her twins. She is a great role model for moms everywhere with her courage and strength during difficult times.

    Good choice! I love Julia.

  3. Jennifer R Says:

Julia is a great choice, but I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying she had a “bad” or “rough” pregnancy. She said herself that it was a pretty easy pregnancy, except for the bedrest. But that’s expected with twins anyway. Just curious. There may be more to it, so please let me know. I am interested.

  4. Sarah, CBB Editor Says:

Well, she was hospitalized with early contractions for a few weeks, that’s what I thought Patty was referring to…?

  5. cramer Says:

I personally don’t know why she needs a nanny this early anyway. I think it is sad that she wouldn’t want to spend her time with the children she has wanted for so long. It seems some celebs have babies because they are another fashion item. When they don’t need them for a photo opt, it seems they are passed off to a nanny. I am fortunate enough to be home with my kids, and I wouldn’t pass them off to a nanny. If anyone can afford time off to focus on her babies it is Julia Roberts. I just don’t understand the need, especially so soon. It’s sad really.

Now, if she would just admit they were conceived via IVF (Not that theres anything wrong with that in any way, but c’mon get real!) that would be great.

  7. LM Says:

Well, first of all, I heard she didn’t even have nannies, that they were really nurses helping take care of Hazel the first couple of weeks. Second, I really don’t think she HAS to admit it was IVF. It could have just been tabloid crap and even if it wasn’t, it’s her right to keep that private if she wants. It’s her body, the public doesn’t own it.

  8. JJ Says:

LM, while it certainly is her right to keep her private life private do you know how happy it would make every woman who’s ever struggled with infertility to have one more high profile celebrity acknowledge it?

She announced her boy/girl twins at a supposed 9 weeks gestation. The only way she would have been able to know at that point of the pregnancy would be if she’d had IVF with PGD, or she lied about her due date.

When she denies assisted reproduction it has the implication that there is something wrong with it, something to be ashamed of, something nice people don’t talk about and surely don’t admit to.

And speaking as someone who cannot conceive naturally… that hurts.

  9. AyEnDeeAreEeAyAitch Says:

I am in total agreeance JJ.

  10. LM Says:

Sorry, I’m still not. What if she had a miscarriage? What if it was the most painful moment of her life? I do applaud the women with the courage to come out and talk about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s anybody elses right to push her or talk crap on her for not doing it. It’s her choice.

The only thing that her publicist released when they announced she was pregnant was that she was having twins and that they ran in the family. The press, I believe it was the Star and People, said she was 9 weeks along (which Julia herself fixed when she corrected Oprah on her show for saying six months along instead of seven). She was farther along at that point and who knows if she knew what the babies were. Again, all her camp officially announced was pregnant, twins, runs in family.

What if she didn’t actually use IVF? Then what about all these people giving her crap for it and getting all self-righteous about it? I just don’t see trashing a stranger for not talking about a private procedure, which they may not have had, as being constructive.

  11. AyEnDeeAreEeAyAitch Says:

I dont think anyone was trashing anyone LM or getting self righteous. Since when are celebrities ’strangers” anyways? If she had help conceiving then I feel she should admit it so those people who have had help too know that theres nothing wrong with it. That way there wouldn’t be such a stigma regarding IVF.

  12. Lisa Says:

Guys, I think IVF is wonderful. How would you feel if you couldnt have a baby naturally and then you find out you could have a prosedure and you could have the baby/ies of your dreams? I dont know why eveyone keeps talking about how bad it is. I guess some people think its like playing with the natural course of things. I think ever baby is born because God wants them to be and he puts all children here on earth…so I dont get the stigma. Really, who cares how she had the babies??? The point is she had two beautiful babies be it through meraculous conception or IVF!

  13. Angela Says:

Great choice!!!I love Julia!!!She is wonderful!!!
