I just posted on my site today about some great music. Laurie Berkner is fab for kids music. As is They Might Be Giants (their latest is a kids’ CD!) and anything from the Wiggles!
I can’t remember the last time I walked around with one of MY songs in my head ;D

I agree about Laurie Berkner, although her bzz like a bee or whatever song drives me insane.
The twins like plain old jazz-probably because it’s what’s playing at their house all the time. But they dance/sway to it, it’s really cute.

Easy, WIGGLES! My 3 boys are Wiggle freaks! We went and saw them live in April, wow! It was a blast. Now my 22 month old goes around doing Hot Potato and the Monkey Dance. Oh, and Rock-a-bye Your Bear. That is the ONLY DVD they agree on! My 4 year old will rock out to Bowling for Soup and Simple Plan though. So when I need a break from the Aussie wonders, we pop on the local Mix station!

My son just loves “Baby Beluga” and “Joshna Giraffe” by Raffi! Anytime he is fussy I just sing them to him and he smiles right away!

A show called Hi-5, my nephews and neice love it. They sing the songs all day long, and its not really a bad show…kind of like the Wiggles.

My son has liked the Wiggles for a couple years. He used to be OBSESSED but it has dwindled down to an enjoyment. His favorite color is yellow because he idolized Greg, the yellow Wiggle. He dressed as him for last Halloween.
But he also really likes the Dave Matthews Band, Phish, and Ben Folds (only the songs with no cussing).
We were at Burger King last night because they have one of those play areas and the weather was bad outside… he told me, “I hate this music they’re playing” with this digusted look on his face.
I love him.

My nephew was also into the wiggles. The songs were not that bad! Even though he has outgrown them we still say “yummy, yummy” after someone says fruit salad! It sticks with ya.

Anyone who brings The Wiggles, Raffi, Blues Clues or Dora into our house will be shot.
So far, the kiddo likes any kind of music, which includes music on the Sour Cream commercial.
As for TV? The Dr.Phil theme song seems to be pretty big.

The songs that my son truly loves having me sing to him are “Baby Mine” (from the movie Beaches and Dumbo) and “Rainbow Connection.” I began singing them to him while I was pregnant with him and they always calm him down!
