“When the pain hit the roof, I had the thought that in a matter of moments I was going to be sitting and holding my baby with a big fat smile on my face - a thought that seemed ridiculous to me at the time but I knew it was true. And there we were, moments later.”

Royal baby on the way

Prince CBB Contributor Julie tells us that Prince Felipe, 37, and Princess Letizia of Spain are expecting their first child in November. They were married on May 22nd, 2004.

Additional info from CBB Reader Graziella: If the baby is a boy, he would automatically be heir to the throne. If the baby is a girl, a law should be passed (it is in the discussion phase) to automatically allow her to be heir to the throne. The baby will be second in line to the throne after her father, Crown Prince Felipe, the Prince of the Asturias.  Letizia said that if the baby was a boy she would like to name him Pelayo. The baby’s surname will be de Borbon (y) Ortiz.  The announcement ends months of speculation of Letizia’s infertility problems.
