Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels expecting twins
Musician Melissa Etheridge, 43, and her wife, actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, 31, announced that they are expecting twins sometime this fall. Tammy is carrying the babies.
In a statement posted on Melissa’s web site, the couple said: "To answer the obvious question: we used an anonymous donor from a bank. These are our first two babies conceived together, but not our first time mothering together."
Melissa has two children (Bailey, 9, and Beckett, 7) from a previous relationship with Julie Cypher.
In anticipation of their arrival, Melissa and Tammy also said that "the twins will be a joyful addition to our loving home. We are a blessed family, and ask that no gifts be sent. Any gifts we receive we will donate to a local women’s shelter. However, well wishes are more than welcome!"
Melissa and Tammy have been together for five years and held a commitment ceremony in September 2003. They currently reside in California.

Tammy is carring the babies, but are they her eggs, or also donor like the sperm?
Wonder if they’ll also give this one a “B” name!?

Congratulations. What difference does it make whose egges they are?! They are having babies that is all that should matter.

I think it lovely. Heartfelt congratulations to them and their family! What wonderful news!
And, FWIW, there are 31 year olds that can suffer from POV (premature ovarian failure).

Congrats to them!!!!! Since Melissa had cancer, it is prob Tammy’s eggs. But, it doesn’t matter anyway! I have always thought they were a beautiful couple and I wish them all the best!

Sorry guys, i didn’t mean it in a mean way. I just confused for a second and thought that it was Tammy that was the one who had cancer.
