Tom says daughter Suri’s birth “was everything that we wanted.”
In an interview that aired Friday, Tom Cruise tells 20/20’s Deborah Roberts that his daughter Suri’s birth "was everything that we wanted." Katie Holmes gave birth to the couple’s first child together this past Tuesday.
"It was spiritual. It was powerful. It was indescribable," he says, "What words can you use? It’s still something that I’m processing and keep reliving." Tom also says that even though he has a new baby at home (his two children Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, split their time with Tom and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman), he will not cut back on his acting work.
"No," he says. "I mean, I have three beautiful children. And I love the adventure of life and filmmaking. … You can get struck by lightning walking out of your house… I’m interested in life. And, I’m very active and I love it."

The interview is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Tom is a PROUD FATHER! I am VERY HAPPY for them. LOVE THEM!

Even though I think Tom is screwy sometimes.all an act I know he is an actor.LOL
I am happy for Him and Katie.Bet he will be an awesome daddy to this little one.I hope his other kids are not shadowed by her(at first I know every kids kinda is cause it is new) and it all becomes one great family unit.

Of course he’s going to mention his brand new baby in an interview. What proud daddy wouldn’t? If the interviewer asks him about her, what is he supposed to do? Say, “No, sorry, I can’t talk about her because then everyone on the internet will think I’m just using her to promote my movie.” He would have done the interviewer for the movie whether or not she had been born yet. I don’t see how he’s “using her.”
Jesus. Lighten up a bit.

These are things I’m reading elsewhere, so don’t kill the messenger and please realize I’m not saying they are true, but I’ve been reading repeatedly that Katie was, indeed, pregnant but the baby was born in December and it’s not Tom’s. That has been the explanation for her changing size and shape in photos taken in the last three to four months. I am only relaying information that I’ve read and I’m not going to comment one way or the other. I’m also reading that is why Katie’s parents were in Florida on vacation because they had already gone to visit their new granddaughter back in December and are going back soon for another visit. Again, I’m just reading this same info in several places and I make no claims to its accuracy.

I find it depressing to read that he won’t cut back on his acting. I know what it is like to love your work but someone with so much money and other advantages of support staff and such could really take a lot of time off especially for those first few years – when he is 95 and looking back will he really be happy he made one more movie instead of being with the baby? Sure, it is his third kid so it doesn’t have all the “newness” of the first but the third is just as loved as the older ones, one would think….maybe he isn’t a baby person, maybe he finds it more fulfilling to be with older kids who are interactive and in school than just the caretaking that is most of the first year or so.

see, I’m with lulu… the only thing that bothers me is where he says he’s not going to cut back… I know that dads typically don’t or can’t… usually can’t… but he’s loaded… he could cut back or even stop working for a year or two if he wanted… look at Heath and Michelle….

where have you been reading this information? that is the first time I’ve ever heard of that rumor! for the baby to have been born in december, it would have been conceived in march, and would have to be chris klein’s child.
although it’s not uncommon for a woman to all of a sudden start showing at seven months, which would have been october, i still find it very odd that you say you’ve heard this rumor multiple times and I’ve NEVER heard it.

oh, just to add: the Holmes’s have only been to california once since december and that was in mid march, so i wouldnt consider that “repeated trips”. besides, katie and tom did a GREAT deal of traveling in december- to New York, florida and colorado. where did she give birth?
i’m not saying what you heard was wrong, it just makes no sense.

I read the article and saw the pics that GrietjeV is referring to. I want to say it was on US Magazine’s website, I think it was last week? It was really strange. They were showing photos that were taken over the course of Katie’s pregnancy and it showed very distinct changes in her belly size. Like from smaller, to larger, to smaller, to larger, etc. One photo in particular that stood out was one in mid-December when she was in NYC for her birthday – she was HUGE! Considering that was 4 months ago, she looked about 8 months in the pic. Then they showed a pic that was taken a few weeks later where she was much, much smaller. The photos were supposedly not printed out of order, in other words, the photos were taken at documented times/events. I realize that depending on the angle and clothing worn during one’s pregnancy, it can distort the apperance of the “baby bump”…still, these were pretty large discrepencies. I don’t believe that she had the baby in Decemeber, or that Tom is not the father, or any of the other rumors that are out there, but the article was strange!!!
Personally, I believe that she had Tom’s baby last week, but it did seem like an unusually long pregnency. I suppose it just adds to the whole weirdness and rumor mill that is TomKat.

Tom does one movie every yr so he really does not need to cut back on anything. Most stars on his level do 2-3 movies every yr, he’s the rare ones that doesnt. Otherwise he could even be making more money then he already has.
And gave the man a break, he just had a kid a couple days ago, do we expect him not to mention her at all? Should he supress his happiness cause some onliners cant seem to gave him a break. He hasnt even been talking that much about her and he is tuning down his schedule when it comes to promoting this movie.
And those rumours are preposterous, if Katie had that child in December then it could have been chris klein, but they brokeup in Feb. I think Chris can count and would know if something was up. Also the timeline does not add up at all. Because Katie’s stomach was flat in July-August so how can she have a baby just a few months later. And she did not look 9 mons pregnant in December! People need to do their homework before making up theories.

I don’t think anyone here is making up theories. We’re just discussing stories that are out there pertaining to celebs, their pregnancies and children. That’s what we like to do here, sometimes the stories or rumors are preposterous, but that’s part of what we like to talk about. It’s harmless. No one is saying that any of these stories are true, we’re merely chatting about them.
