It’s not. But it should be.

Uhhh, aren’t all hospitals like that? I wouldn’t want to give birth in one that wasn’t. If it’s rare, I’ll count myself lucky.

Don’t make c-sections out to be a celebrity thing. The c-section rate has gone for everyone. I had a cousin who had a c-section birth two weeks ago.

I would hate for that to happen to Britney, because it’d leave Sean and orphan and I shutter to think of K-Fed as Sean’s only surviving parent!”

Many people have had back to back c-sections. I am sure there is a very small number of people who’ve actually experienced this tragedy. I was under the impression that a c-section is only performed when it is deamed necessary and not just bc a person chooses this method. Anyways, I know my mom had two c-sections bc she had complications w/ both my brother and myself. But she said she’d do it all over that way then experience labor pains!

Okay … like you have any inside knowledge on this one?!

As for the rise in c-sections its disheartening, because the vaginal birthing process in an integral part of life and can directly affect a child’s health, parental bonding, and nursing. However, having said that while many people do deliver breech babies many doctors (especially in North America) are no longer trained to do so and it is perceived as too great a risk. So, undoubtably Brad & Angie must have felt a strong need to do this. This wasn’t the case with Britney or countless other celebrities who feel their are too posh to push and do not want to deal with the affects of the last weeks of pregnancy and labour.

The rise in c-sections amoungst celebs is reflective of the rise in us common folk and has more to do with a lack of knowledge and an unwillingness to be patient (inductions & interventions such as pitocin) on both the doctors and patients part. I’m all for c-sections if they are needed (placental abruption, etc) but too many people just think they need one & so that has put many people on the defensive.

(Now if it had been Jen having the baby, it definitely would’ve been a c-section in a Beverly Hills Hospital or birthing clinic…although I guess she did “fake give birth” naturally on ‘Friends’. lol!)

It would be cool if Brad & Angie did donate whatever proceeds they get from Shiloh’s photo to charity, that is if they do let someone professionally take her picture.

It is cool though that they already have donated thousands to the hospital/clinic where Angie gave birth, and to a school.

As far as Brit’s c-section for Sean, I would imagine that she did because she was afraid at the time. I just hope that her next one goes alright since the babies are going to be only about 12 months apart.

In the end it doesn’t matter how the baby got here just that she’s here and healthy. A

And I do believe that they will release photos of the baby for all & donate it to charity. That’s probably the better way. Of course paparazzi will get exclusives but why not give them all the same thing in the beginning and everybody’s happy.

I agree with BP in that as long as the baby and mother are healthy, it really doesn’t matter how the baby arrives. I just wonder if some celebs, like Britney (as mentioned in the above comment) are doing it just because they don’t want to go through a “natural” birth. And even if a woman does choose a c-section for a non-medical reason, I guess that’s her prerogative. I just have a hard time understanding why anyone would prefer to have major abdominal surgery over a vaginal delivery. As I’m sure any woman who has had a c-section will tell you, IT HURTS! There is plenty of pain & discomfort that last for days after the delivery, not to mention loss of feeling in the scar region.

It’s an interesting subject.

As for Shiloh’s birth, it makes sense to me that Angie would choose a c-section knowing that her baby was breech. While it’s not impossible to deliver vaginally with the baby in this position, I hear it can be very difficult and risky. I’m sure Angelina and Brad made the right decision for them.

well BP. lets just look at britney as an example….she wanted, and actually got a c-section without even trying so maybe thats what kristen meant…cuz from the time britney was pregnant she said she did not want to do it vaginally
