Angelina and Brad baby shower photo

We were emailed earlier this evening by a person claiming to have a memory stick containing 450 digital photos of the Jolie-Pitt family while they were still in Africa. This person is shopping the photos around to papers and magazines, but included a few picture files in their email. It is supposedly from Angelina and Brad’s baby shower – very cute!

Update: We’ve decided to take down the sample photo thatappeared earlier. There are plenty of other sites that are displayingvarious photos.

Wow! They are both just glowing with happiness. Beautiful!

  2. FC Says:

They both look great, very playful and loving. It’s such a cute photo. :)

  3. summer Says:

there may or may not be legal issues involved with posting this photo, but you have got to think that there are moral and ethical issues involved… this is a private photo taken inside of some sort of house or building, not outside on the street or at a hollywood shindig- celebrities have very little privacy as it is, and whoever is trying to sell these pictures is stooping extremely low just to make a buck…

    just my two cents…

  4. Coot Says:

    I agree with summer.

  5. Fast Typist Says:

I also agree with Summer, and I don’t really think that CBB should have posted the picture. It just doesn’t seem right.

  6. Erin Says:

Such a great photo =) Whoever sent it must be part of their inner-circle… such a scummy move if they are. =|

  7. Duckgirl Says:

Even though I think this is a beautiful picture and it’s nice to see, I’m very saddened by it because this is their private moments that they thought no one but the people they CHOSE would see it. I would be very upset if someone showed my private pictures to someone else without my permission.

  8. Amber Smith Says:

My baby shower was no where near that exciting. I don’t think I smiled the whole time I was there. Ang looks so happy!

  9. preesi Says:

1/ You say that the sender sent picture(S)? Where are the rest theuy sent? I wanna see em!

2/ The person that took the photos owns them and can do what they want with them. Who knows? Brangelina may have secretly authorized them.

  10. Sarah CBB Editor Says:

I’m not posting the other two pics because I’m conflicted about even posting the one, and I still don’t feel right about it from a moral standpoint. It’s great to have a site exclusive, but there’s a fine line to walk – I chose the photo where they look happy and unbothered and seem to know their photos are being taken, which is not the case with the other two. I’m sure the Star or the Enquirer will snap the pics up and they’ll be available to see next week anyway.

We still don’t know if the person sending the photos took them themselves and is trying to get a price for them, or if they stole the memory stick with the photos on it, so what the legal options are is still uncertain. We will take the photo down immediately if contacted.

  11. funkyfeet Says:

These pictures were obviously stolen. No celebrity leaks 450 photos to the press. Also I read the photos were also sent to Star magazine by the person who sent them here and I’m pretty sure Brad wouldn’t send pitcures to Star.

That said I too feel guilty but can’t help but look and like what I see.

  12. Fast Typist Says:

Sarah, if you are conflicted about even posting this picture and don’t feel right about it from a moral standpoint, why don’t you remove it? I am sure we would all understand! Just asking.

  13. preesi Says:

What if they were taken by hidden camera?
    Sleazy? YES!
    Illegal? NO!

  14. Sarah CBB Editor Says:

FastTypist, I just think this is a case where I need to put my job responsibilites before my personal feelings, that’s all. It’s great for CBB to have an exclusive, and it’s something that’s very interesting to a lot of readers, even if we feel guilty looking at it. That’s why I decided to post just the one – still get the news out, but attempt to keep some things private and personal. If someone else gets the other photos and posts them, we will link to them, but will not be posting them here.

  15. mymindspeaks Says:

I am so conflicted about these pictures and I do hope if you find out who is trying to sell them that you will let the proper people know. I have to admit I am curious about seeing them. I think they both look so happy and it is great to see but I also feel as if I am peering in on a private moment

  16. mymindspeaks Says:

I do have to say that even though I love seeing them I do wonder about the “Friend” who would sell them out.

  17. Esme Says:

What I don’t get is why did this person send out the e-mails to the blog sites and fan sites asking if they were interested in buying. No offence to you, Sarah but what made this person think that you would have money(I’m sure this set of pictures could fetch in the tens of thousands) to buy the pictures? Also peddling what most likely is stolen property so publicly like this? Makes me think he’s either not that bright or an amateur. If the pictures were indeed stolen, I hope they catch the guy and he gets punished accordingly.

  18. Red Says:

There are probably very serious legal issues with posting this photo — it’s likely that you have neither the photographer’s nor the couple’s permission to “publish” it. But, more than that, it’s professionally unethical to post it. “Job responsibilities” is a poor excuse for a site that pretends to have journalistic standards. I hope someone makes you take the photo down soon.

  19. Fast Typist Says:

Sarah, I have to say that I agree with Red..”Job responsibilities” is a poor excuse. You said that you are conflicted about whether or not you should even put the photo up or not, which is a strong indication that you know it is wrong. No job is ever worth putting ahead of your personal feelings of what is right and wrong.

  20. Erin Says:

I tried to bite my tongue but enough is enough.

If you people have such problems with this site and/or its staff, why don’t you take it up with Sarah or Danielle off the site?

I’m sure people would appreciate you taking your grievances elsewhere instead of raking Sarah over the coals for something as petty as a picture. She left her e-mail: use it.

  21. Erin Says:

    Funkyfeet:

I highly doubt it was Bard either. LOL I think it is someone they know… either they were stupid enough to get the card stolen, or they are selling it themselves.

Someone on another site was saying how it couldn’t have been one of Brad’s family members because they didn’t show up until after Shiloh was born, BUT as far as I’m aware Brad’s brother was there for a couple weeks before the birth (he was photographed on the beach with Angie & Maddox) and his parents flew in a couple days after the arrival.

Hmmm… we need to do some detective work! ;)

  22. Sarah CBB Editor Says:

You are all more than welcome to your opinions. I wasn’t asking what readers thought should be done or offering excuses, I was simply answering the question posed and stating my reasons. That’s more than you’ll get from many other blogs, and I apologize if that is for some reason not enough.

For those discussing journalistic standards – I’m sure you also understand the importance of breaking news and exclusive stories. CBB would never plagiarize material, does not copy and paste articles, and always sources our material – these are things not many other blogs can say.

Just Jared has posted the other photos that I would not – they are linked in the original post.

  23. gargoylegurl Says:

I feel very strongly about this and I just have to comment my 2 cents here…

What I don’t understand is how suddenly we are all so concerned with celebrities and their privacy???

This is a celebrity GOSSIP site and 95% or more of the photos linked or posted here are obtained in a manner that: #1.) the celebrity didn’t authorize and #2.) the celebrity is probably less than thrilled about having taken.

I would say that most of the pics we enjoy here on a daily basis were snapped when the celebrity was not working and was in private – therefore any number of these pics could be considered an invasion of their privacy, and probably are by the celebrities!

Before anyone jumps on me and says these pictures are different, I will agree. Yes. These particular photos probably are stolen or were taken by someone they thought they could trust, so this is particularly bad. Agreed. But to jump all over CBB for posting this pic – I don’t agree with that at all!

If some people are that morally or ethically offended, then perhaps they should reevaluate whether coming to CBB is something they should be doing at all.

  24. Red Says:

I believe the photo that was posted here earlier is different; it was taken in private (not on a street or a beach) and appears to be obtained from a private source, not a photo agency — its origins are unknown, if not suspicious. If the person selling the photo obtained it illegally, then CBB would be aiding and abetting the crime by publishing the photo. What other blogs may or may not do is of no consequence; CBB has to decide for itself what caliber of site it’s going to be. And, if CBB doesn’t want to hear from its readers — those folks who keep CBB alive, even when we have dissenting opinions — then they should turn off the comments.
I’m glad the photo has been removed.

  25. Zoe Says:

Very well said, Red. You took the words right out of my mouth!

  26. gargoylegurl Says:

Besides the fact that someone may have broken Angelina & Brad’s trust by “leaking” these photos, I really don’t think there is much of a difference between these photos and the ones we look at every day that are taken by the stalkarazzi.

The bottom line is the same – candid shots of celebs in their private moments.

Either you enjoy celeb gossip & the associated photos or you choose to have nothing to do with it because it doesn’t interest you or you’re morally or ethically opposed to it.

I don’t understand how some can be so offended by one set of photos yet have no problem looking at others. Someone above commented: “I also feel as if I am peering in on a private moment”….Do you not think that when we are looking at Gwen Stefani nursing her son while she watches her husband play sports, that it isn’t a private moment? Most of the photos we look at on here are “private moments” – I am baffled by the sudden onslaught of moral & ethical crusaders! Give me a break!

  27. Tai! Says:

where exactly could I find the pictures now??

  28. amelie Says:

I think there’s a difference between having a gossip blog dedicated to celebrity babies – giving news of who’s expecting, who’s had a baby, what name they’ve chosen … and behaving like the paparazzi all for the sake of an ‘exclusive’. There’s a world of difference between someone’s internet blog and a global magazine when it comes to news.

As someone on TV is saying right now, with regards to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s wedding (which is happening in a couple of hours) … the moment someone publishes an unauthorised photo, their reputation immediately changes. I’m really disappointed that this website did that. True, it’s Danielle and Sarah’s choice, but is this really what they want? Personally I’d rather support a site which has a bit more integrity … just like a buy magazines like Vogue and Time, rather than Hello or Star. Some people definitely want the trash, but there’s a desperate need for quality journalism as well.

PS One official photo will be released this afternoon, from Keith and Nicole’s wedding ;)

  29. Tai! Says:

    wait.
    are you Serious?
Most of the pictures on this site are FROM paparazzi cameras.
I highly doubt, that if celebrities could stop it they would choose to let them keep taking pictures of them. So how is that picture ANY different? It was taken by someone AT the baby shower. No laws were broken.

  30. Erin Says:

    Tai!:

Last I checked justjared.com still had all 3 photos up. The one of Angie and Zahara is a must-see, in my opinion – it’s simply gorgeous =)

  31. Lorus Says:

Wow. What a private moment. I feel bad for Brad & Angie that someone is trying to sell these pics. I think that when stars leave their houses and are out in public then people are allowed to take pictures of them for public viewing. I draw the line when it comes to personal photos inside their house, etc. Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t make their every move available for the public to see.

  32. gargoylegurl Says:

    - Gwen Stefani nursing her son while she watches her husband play sports.

    - Stretch marks on Katie Holmes’ tummy, a few weeks postpartum, at her step-son’s soccer game.

    - Britney Spears clearly distressed & crying with her son on her lap, while she’s inside a restaurant.

These are examples of some of the photos that have recently been posted on Celebrity Baby Blog. Was it particularly moral or ethical to show those photos?

Someone leaks a couple photographs of Brad & Angelina smiling at their baby shower (how do we even know it was their actual baby shower) and everyone is outraged?

I don’t buy the argument that these pics are worse just because they were taken in a building, at a party, rather than outside in public.

Personally, the photos that I mentioned at the beginning of this comment, were more uncomfortable for me to look at than the one from the supposed baby shower.

  33. mymindspeaks Says:

While I understand the pictures of Katie’s stretch marks were uncomfortable I believe the problem with the baby shower pictures is that it was pretty obvious that to have a digital card of over 400 the pictures they were selling were more than likely STOLEN

  34. MarchelineBertrand Says:

Anyone that got a copy of those pics, please email them to me at elysiafionn@hotmail.com! I am crazy to get a peek at them!!!

  35. MarchelineBertrand Says:

OR… just post the URL of any sites that still have the pics up!

I’m CRAZY to see these! Come on, somebody!!!!

  36. Tai! Says:

I would love to know how you got this idea.
If they were in fact stolen I am sure there would be some fuss over it. Those pictures are potentially worth alot of money.

“I believe the problem with the baby shower pictures is that it was pretty obvious that to have a digital card of over 400 the pictures they were selling were more than likely STOLEN”
I think, that while the possibility of it being stolen is not zero, the card was not stolen. To take THAT many pictures the person knew what they were doing.Who needs 400 or 450 pictures of a baby shower….even the jolie-pitt baby shower.
The person who took those pictures knew they were going to sell them and wanted alot to choose from.
I guess we just have to wait and see what the Jolie-pitts do.

  37. brave Says:

i think this article on tmz.com sums up where the Jolie-Pitts are on these photos http://www.tmz.com/2006/06/25/stolen-photos-of-pitt-jolie-baby-shower/

    from the article:
Lawyers for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have sent an email to various media outlets, including TMZ, informing them that “a digital memory card containing a number of personal copyright protected photographs” of Brad, Angelina and their children have been stolen and offered for sale.

The email, written by a lawyer for the powerhouse law firm of Lavely & Singer, threatens that anyone who publishes the photos “will be liable for substantial compensatory damages, punitive damages, and injunctive relief.”

  38. gargoylegurl Says:

hmmm…While I don’t doubt that these pics were stolen, I’m wondering why there’s nothing about this on CNN or even People.com?

Oh well. As Tai! stated, I guess we will have to wait and see what the Jolie-Pitts do.

I’m still not convinced they are necessarily photos from the *actual* baby shower? The person peddling these pics is the one claiming they are from the shower. How credible is he/she?

  39. Lorus Says:

The Jolie-Pitts are threatening legal action if anyone makes the STOLEN pictures public. Apparently the memory card from a digital camera was stolen and it has pictures of them while in Namibia including the baby shower. Here’s a link.

  40. Angel Says:

Okay once again I came late to the party.

If at all possible could someone please direct me to a site or whatever that would have the photos? I just wanna see, pretty please :) )) Please

  41. Tippy Says:

I agree with most- the photos which were taken within the privacy of the pitt-jolie ‘compound’ should not be on display for us to see unless they decide to release them. Today in the press however, it is said that those pictures were taken by Angelinas brother who brought his broken digital into best-buy (as it was still under warrenty) and some goof-ball guys in charge of fixing the problem went ahead and exploited the photos on the camera. Hopefully the full story will come out soon. I think its pretty safe to say that a) these kids just lost their job(s) and 2) no more personal cameras inside the jolie-pitt home anymore. ;)

  42. Stephanie Says:

Hey, you have a great blog here! I’m definitely going to bookmark you!

I have a Eva Mendes site. It pretty much covers Eva Mendes.

Come and check it out if you get time ;)
