Scientology forbids Suri’s pictures?

Suri Cruise was a much anticipated baby. As the child of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and some believe(d) she has never existed. Pictures were going to solve everything – if only there were any. Shortly after Suri’s birth in April, it was proclaimed that she is "extremely beautiful, has lots of dark hair and big blue eyes" and proud father Cruise was going to show pictures of her on the Ellen show, May 12th. But no pictures have been shown or sold till this day leading many to continue to wonder "where’s Suri?"
Some say that Tom wanted more money than $3 million for Suri – more than Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s charities allegedly earned for Shiloh, but no one was willing to pay them.
Could the real reason be Tom’s belief in Scientology? An alleged friend of the actor told Britain’s Grazia magazine: "Tom insists he’ll do it in his own time. He won’t be bullied into showing his world his precious angel. Tom wants to obey Scientology rules about keeping babies out of the public eye." Scientology doctrine teaches to avoid taking newborn babies out unless absolutely necessary and Cruise is an avid follower of the sect. Time – and hopefully Cruise himself – will tell what Suri looks like.

That’s what happens when they don’t get the money they were asking for (4 mil the same as Brad and Ange).Its funny how they were shopping around for the highest bidder and when they didn’t get it they blame scientology.Way to go Hollywood !!

i just wonder and worry about katie holmes… does she have any choices about her own daughter? everything seems to be what TC wants… when my 2 sons were newborns, we were attached at the hip… i didn’t go anywhere without them… i couldn’t imagine always leaving them behind…

Why can’t it simply be a matter of them not wanting to share their child? Why must we assume the worst? If they *had* shared pictures, everyone would be all over them for “selling out”. Personally? More power to them. I’m happy that they’ve been able to enjoy this time in private and when THEY are ready, we will see Suri.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true… I was one of those who really support them always saying that they were in love an happy… But now I feel really uncomfortable, where is Suri? Does katie has any choice ?

I personally don’t like them as a couple, but not showing their baby’s pics, for whatever reason, Im all for it. I get nervous sending my son’s pics to just friends and family online, worried that they forward it on to people I don’t know. Maybe it’s being overprotective, but I’d rather be too protective then not at all. I can understand not wanting to share an innocent little newborn’s pics with billions of people.

Good for them for not pimping out their kid but at the same time they are both brainwashed by this religion. Nicole and Penelope came out of it and hopefully Katie does before she’s invested any more of herself in this relationship.
I’ve got a question for CBB. Is it true that Nicole and Tom’s kids were escorted to Nicoles wedding by Tom’s sister (fellow scientoligist)? Can they not go anywhere where he isn’t in some sort of control…

LMAO I’m sorry i’m so alone with this thought…but does the baby even exist? I know I know because they’re keeping their “baby” out of the spotlight, but c’mon.. really does baby Suri exist? I don’t know their whole relationship is just one of those things that I think some people will be split on..or maybe it’s just me.. I know I don’t make sense, but some celebrities “couplings” make sense and this one in particular..It’s out in left field..way way out in left field.

i dont think this rumor is true. Leah Remini is a scientologist, and she released pictures of HER child when the baby was born. I just think Tom is being extra careful with his little princess. Katie’s been seen out without Suri.
If the media treated me the way they get treated, there’s NO WAY i’d release pictures of my kid!

I understand wanting to protect their child from the paps but seriously if this scientlogy crap about not taking newborns out is true, well it’s just that, crap. I could see if they lived in new york and suri was born in the middle of winter but they live in Cali and it’s summer! Let that poor baby go for a walk around the park and Katie could always do what Angie did and walk around covered in sheets.

First of all, Tom was never going to show pictures of Suri on the Ellen show, whomever thought that had to be kidding themselves. Ellen was the one who made it seemed like he would but that was simply a marketing ploy and she got epople watching didnt she? The show was already taped and she did promos for it based on him picking a similar looking kid and drawing more hair on her etc.
I dont think it has anything to do with scientology, its simply a parent’s preference. Why are people grasping at straws and believing every gossip even when they contradict each other? No one knew how much Shiloh was going to go for until after the media saw the photos and then they bid on it. No way was Tom going to know how much the pictures went for and Suri was born like a month before Shiloh. According to the Fox article, this auction supposedly happened soon after Suri was born. And btw Wire Image has denied this ever happened.
We dont not know for sure if Suri has been out, she has a huge backyard and I’m sure the paparazzi arent camped out her house 24/7 to catch a glimpse of her. Highly anticipated or not, Tom and Katie dont have to release any pictures of their child if they dont want to.
And I think the rumours about her not existing is extremely silly. Are people going to forget that they were pregnant? Someone care to explain to me how she was born in the hospital? And better yet explain how no one has refuted this fact?

Personally, I could care less about seeing the baby. But what bothers me is the comment made in another article saying that they didn’t want to exploit their child. I find that so funny considering Tom has had no problem exploiting his 2 older kids this past year. Until he hooked up with Katie, you rarely saw pictures of him with his kids. And then wham, it’s as if he were campaigning for father of the year. And questions started to arise about whether or not the kids ever saw their mother. The answer to that is a big fat YES! But unlike Tom, Nicole does not throw them out for a photo-op at every opportunity. She has said repeatedly that she does not like her kids to be photographed if at all possible. She talked last year on Ellen about going to Connor’s soccer games and playfully teasing Bella on the sidelines. But no photos ever came out. It is possible to spend time with the kids and not have it in every tabloid the following day. Unless you want it be seen, like I beieve Tom did.
Yes Ericka, it is true that Tom’s Scientology sister accompanied the kids to Australia for their mom’s Catholic wedding. Personally, I think we are finally seeing the real Tom Cruise and just how controlling and manipulative he is.
In the last several months, I’ve read quite a bit on Scientology and find some of their practices very disturbing. This “religion” is known to destroy families when not all members follow their practices. Why do you think Tom’s entire family converted? It was at his urging. I feel incredibly bad for Nicole as I feel her kids are being alienated from her by their father. And I think the same thing will happen to Katie if/when things end for them.
Sorry to go off on a rant, but this is something I feel very strongly about.

Jamie, I agree with everything you said. It’s unbelieveable how controlling Tom has become. Poor Nicole. She seems like a normal mother, one who looks after her kids and hangs out with them. Whereas Tom comes across as a domineering father. I feel for Katie.

again, we are treading into dangerous territory, but coincidently it coincides with our discussion. Connor and Isabella are now 11 and 13. they want to be as normal as possible. they want to go out and be with their friends, seeing as how they are homeschooled. what did people want Tom to do, tie Bella and Connor to a chair?
I firmly believe the paparazzi is capable of pretty much anything. if they thought pictures of Nicole Kidman would sell, they would take pictures of Nicole at her children’s games. people care about tom, and that is why HIS pictures sell.
Tom does not want to exploit his children, but he also doesnt want them to lead sheltered lives. they’re gonna do what they wanna do, whether there are 20 or 200 paparazzi waiting for them!

i just think it is weird there have been no pictures of them taking her out to the car in her car seat or anything. if they don’t want to sell pictures to people magazine, whatever. but i think it is strange that she has never left the house! tom and katie are out going places, leaving their tiny baby in the care of others. i would think that scientology would promote constant mother/baby bonding. going out for an afternoon without the baby is one thing, but they have been out in a public tons of times without suri.

I’ve been a Scientologist for over 20 years. There is no truth at all to these rumors about Scientology and babies. When our kid was born my wife and I took him everywhere. There’s nothing in Scientology at all that says anything about not showing your baby.
Whatever Holmes and Cruise are doing is their own personal choice.

Well here is my opinion of the whole thing, but remember this is only my opinion. The baby does NOT exist. I’m very happy for Nicole Kidman, she finally found happiness with someone who truly loves her. True the whole Angelina Joli-Pitt thing was alot, but all the money went to charity that was made off the pictures. But Tommy boy wouldn’t give the money to charity, it would go straight to his “cult” I guess nobody cares to see Suri now, since he really didn’t handle it very well with public. Unless the money went to charity, who would want to buy pictures of a baby that does NOT exist? He scammed so many people with Katie. Oh well this is only my opinion. I wouldn’t see any of his movies for any money. So take it any way you want.

I agree with many of the other ladies and their posts about whether Katies Holmes has a say in this whole matter. It seems like the only person we’ve heard from at all since the birth of Suri, and throughout the pregnancy for that matter, has been Tom. I quote “TOM will do it in HIS own time?” (bolding my own…) What does KATIE have to say? It really seems to me (and sad it is) that it’s not really Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, or TomKat, or anything of the sort. It’s really become Tom Cruise and that-young-woman-he’s-with-who-used-to-be-an-entity-of-her-own-but-wait-what’s-her-name-again?

I find all this funny. First, it appears Tom did try auctioning off the photos of his “Angel” however the prices didn’t get as high as he had hoped and yanked the deal. Now, he claims it is due to his religious beliefs. Yeah right, yep we believe you.
After this he goes and slams “Brangelina” for exploiting their daughter to the highest bidder to publicize themselves because they have no movie coming out. Hmm, why would he even think that? Maybe because he used his daughter’s birth?
Last, yes I’m sure he’ll do it on his own time. Once the price is right.

This is silly. I’m a Scientologist and there is nothing that I know of about “not allowing babies outside”. It’s just hogwash. I have no idea why Tom isn’t showing his baby off to the world, but it has nothing to do with Scientology.

It truly is amazing how people take a total nothing (no information) and fabricate the most bizarre rumors and gossip out of it. The poster who said Tom and Katie had been out tons of times without their baby – HELLO! There have been like 4 or 5 spottings of Katie outside of the house in like 3 MONTHS! Are you some kind of idiot? How do you take this information and turn it into “but they have been out in a public tons of times without suri.” Excuse me, but only Tom has by necessity of his job. And we haven’t really seen hide nor hair of him since MI:III promo was finished, and he went off to build their dream home away from Beverly Hills.
“Constant” bonding? What the hell are you talking about!?? As a mother of 2, I would have gone nuts if I spent 3 straight months at home with my newborns without getting out of the house. If Katie did that you would be calling her a “captive”, “under house arrest”, or “a recluse”.
How could the baby have never left the house if Katie took Suri to Colorado to visit her grandparents?
I mean come on people! For the sake of humanity! I thought the human race was more intelligent than this!! I mean granted we spend way to much time worrying about their lives, but at least we could try to keep the facts straight!! ARRRRGGGHHH!!! (:))
