Leah Remini has met Suri Cruise
UPDATE: PEOPLE added an article on their site a few hours ago, which adds a little more information to what we already posted. Leah, apparently met her at their LA home recently and says that "she’s a beaming baby…she looks like Tom and Katie…she’s just beautiful."
Leah also commented on Tom and Katie, saying that Cruise is "one of those doting dads" and that Holmes looks "beautiful – I’m jealous of her. She just bounced right back."
So why won’t they show Suri off to the public? Their rep has said that they are in no rush and that "Suri’s in great shape. Everything’s fine."
Originally posted – July 19th: US Weekly has reported that Leah Remini has met Suri Cruise. Suri, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, is yet to be seen by the public. The issue, on stands this Friday, says that Scientology friend, Leah, met Suri several weeks ago. Leah, said about Suri, that "she is a newborn and normal size." An unknown friend, also added that Suri is "a cross between the two – dark, straight hair and dark eyes."

“she is a newborn and normal size.”
That sounds like something you’d say about a baby when there isn’t something nice to say. Maybe there is something off about Suri and that’s why they are keeping her hidden.
July 19th, 2006 at 3:16 am
Yes, it sounds strange. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the baby (I do think she exists
). Maybe Leah isn’t allowed to say anything more personal about the child?
July 19th, 2006 at 3:21 am
While the media waits in anticipation of the pictural capture of baby Suri, I find it odd that there has been minimal print or vocal acknowledgement from Katies’ parents about the joy of their first granddaughter since her birth. I have often wondered if they are allowed to have pictures of her as well. Could you imagine not being able to share with friends, family, or your community your pride and joy?
July 19th, 2006 at 4:07 am
Either US Weekly made up that quote or she’s trying to be cute with them. There are far more notable things to say about a newborn than “normal size.”
Leah’s a Scientologist too so I doubt she’d want to say too much anyway. My guess is that Suri is knee deep in Scientology rituals and ceremonies right now.
July 19th, 2006 at 4:18 am
I agree on how bizarre it is that the parents have NOT been discussed other than some story about Tom and Kate having a fight and her taking Suri to Toledo for the weekend. How did NO ONE manage to capture a photo…not even one of her surrounded by body guards holding a blanket or something.
“normal size” is the ODDEST comment I’ve ever heard about a newborn!
I never used to believe in cover ups or conspiracy theories…but this one has me HOOKED!
July 19th, 2006 at 5:20 am
I thought TC made all that hoopla when she was born about her having blue eyes (I know most newborns have blue eyes which later change color) but something about this strikes me as strange.
KH has blue eyes doesn’t she? By Mendel’s Laws it’s very strange that two blue-eyed people would have a child that has brown eyes (if the unknown friend means brown eyes by “dark eyes”).
Finally, saying she is “a newborn and normal size” – if she did say that – doesn’t prove anything more than that she saw a “newborn and normal size” child.
July 19th, 2006 at 5:37 am
Wouldn’t Suri be more than a newborn by now, being supposedly 3 months old now and all? Although I suppose that it depends upon when Leah actually the baby.
Anyway you’re probably right, dave, Suri’s probably being considered as the “golden child” by the Scientology community because 1. She’s Tom’s first biological child 2. Tom’s trying to take over and become the “high priest” pastor (or whatever) of Scientology, or so someone claimed once.
July 19th, 2006 at 5:54 am
you are spot on Autumn! I think she exists but is not being showed because of Scientology (Tom would not be that stupid to make up a child for a movie!)
As for the newborn comment I think that she was referring to the rumours that they have adopted a baby.
July 19th, 2006 at 6:08 am
strange comment, true. I am pretty sure katie has brown eyes though, crzymaid. So, brown eyes would make sense for Suri.
July 19th, 2006 at 6:28 am
I thought Tom said she had blue eye’s when she was first born?
July 19th, 2006 at 7:31 am
What I think is strange (besides Leah’s newborn normal size comment)is that NOW Leah says she saw Suri weeks ago and NOW the press spots a stroller?! Seems kind of coincidental. I am not saying I don’t believe Suri exists, I just think that with all of the speculation going on and the stories about it on the news it just seems strange that NOW there is all of this “evidence” popping up all over that yes indeed there is a baby. Only time will tell for sure how this all plays out, I guess.
July 19th, 2006 at 9:00 am
Kiara, most babies are born with blue eyes. They change later.
July 19th, 2006 at 9:04 am
I think that comment (if true) by Leah Remini is VERY strange. “Normal size” and “newborn” just sound like very generic, polite things to say, when you can’t think of anything else nice to say. I have seen Leah in numerous TV interviews, and she appears very bubbly, effusive, and seems to give out praise and positive comments liberally, so I find it strange she would say something so bland about a friend’s child.
Leah could still remain “mysterious” about Suri’s looks, if that is what Tom and Katie want, by saying something like “I’ve seen her, and she is a lovely, darling little baby.”
I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I am starting to wonder what is up with Suri….
July 19th, 2006 at 9:47 am
“Kiara, most babies are born with blue eyes. They change later.”
That is right, but I read in a book that they don’t change until the child is about 6 months old. So how can Suri suddenly have brown eyes not too long after birth?
July 19th, 2006 at 10:03 am
I think Leah is just trying to be funny. She seems like she has a very, very dry/sarcastic sense of humor. I think people continue to try to read so much into this.
July 19th, 2006 at 10:44 am
I don’t think Scientology has much to do with it, as leah was snapped with her baby girl Sophia very soon after she was born.
I think they are just trying to keep their baby out of the spotlight.
July 19th, 2006 at 10:46 am
Come on, enough already. Just because Tom & Katie are in the public eye doesn’t mean their children have to be. Leah’s comment sounds like maybe she’s just answering to everyone that keeps speculating that maybe Suri is older than they are saying or that something is wrong with her. Katie’s parents have never been vocal with the media about anything else so why would they now share anything about their grandchild. If I was a celeb & had a baby, I would want to protect him/her from the media as well, and these are not the first celeb parents to protect their child. We’ll see her when we see her.
July 19th, 2006 at 10:55 am
I am SO tired of the Suri topic, we have beaten it to death!!! Lets move on and stop giving them the attention they want!!!
July 19th, 2006 at 12:08 pm
Right On Bridget!!!! Thank you for posting what I have been thinking for months now.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:26 pm
I think what Leah is referring to when she says “normal size” is in referral to the comment that a merchant in Telluride made when he claimed to have seen Suri and said she “was weird-looking and had small fingers.”
July 19th, 2006 at 12:35 pm
I agree with an earlier comment. Why should the baby have to suffer eternal media attention the way their parents do. Pick on Cruise and Katie, they made their own bed. Don’t subject the baby to hell because of who their parents are.
July 19th, 2006 at 12:37 pm
I agree with Rebecca. Leah has an entire reality show about her pregnancy, birth and newborn daughter. Does everyone remember when John Travolta and Kelly Preston released photos of Jett and Ella?
July 19th, 2006 at 1:47 pm
I believe that like I believe pigs fly.
To reply to maggie lillis, they posted pictures (they meaning John and Kelly) of Ella a few weeks after her birth. I remember the pictures of her in a pink blanket and both of them on the cover.
Just in reality, you’d think that two people with bright eyes would have a child with bright eyes. Of course it’s possible not to, but not very likely at all.
I still say Suri is non-existent.
July 19th, 2006 at 1:49 pm
The only thing I find truly weird about the most recent Suri “news” is the fact that all of this stuff suddenly comes out when the media actually started putting more out there about the TC/KH “Baby Mystery”. All of a sudden a stroller appears and someone has seen her? It is all just so convenient.
July 19th, 2006 at 2:10 pm
Leah has a dry sense of humor. So I think that she was talking about that people have been saying she is to big for her age, she is an alien,or that their is something wrong with the way she looks.I do feel bad for suri because of the things people have been saying about her, and will continue too when she is older. Her parents haven’t done anything wrong, besides not showing a picture of her and people are making theories about how she doesn’t exist.Even now when we se a stroller people still aren’t have happy they say its to convenient or a hoax.I mean lets be honest if we saw a picture of her tomorrow, or maybe a year from now people are still going to be saying the same thing about suri. She is not their real daughter, her parents faked their pregnancy….. I don’t think people even want to see a picture of her, I think that some people are to wrapped up in this whole conspiracy thing that they already made up their mind that she doesn’t exist. So a picture of her now isn’t going to do anything.
July 19th, 2006 at 2:55 pm
I couldn’t have cared less when they had the baby, but now my curiosity has been piqued. I think there is something wrong with Suri. Or maybe there was a stillbirth and Tom and katie are just not ready to face the world with that. I had a stillborn baby and after the birth I just wanted to crawl under a rock for a few months.
I also have six children (two blue eyed, three brown and one green) and their eyes all looked grey for at least the first three months.
July 19th, 2006 at 3:02 pm
This is also People’s website now. They don’t have the weird quote about the normal size. Still don’t think she’s real. Leah’s a Scientologist too. Birds of a feather you know.
July 19th, 2006 at 3:10 pm
Who cares what the Travolta’s or Leah did in regards to Tom & Katie? Just because they follow the same faith doesn’t mean the do things the same way. That’s like saying all Catholics act the same or all Baptists. So them showing their kids proves nothing. Poor Suri, maybe one day she’ll have some peace.
July 19th, 2006 at 4:01 pm
Suri can have dark eyes as Katie has green eyes that seem to change to Greenish-bluish-hazel-brown (haha). Tom seems to have Hazel…

All babies have blue eyes when first born. It takes about 6 months for them to turn to their colour they will be the rest of your life but she may be just like mom and dad and have constantly changing eye colors due to light or whatever. I have friends eyes who do that. Hell my father has brown eyes but the lining around his iris is blue…go figure.
July 19th, 2006 at 4:27 pm
Not all babies have blue eyes when they are born. Caucasian babies often do, though. Our next door neighbor is a geneticist and he likes to predict the eye colors of all the expected babies in the neighborhood. hehe. It’s very amusing at barbeques. He was wrong about one of our daughters (blue eyes) and right about the other (brown).
July 19th, 2006 at 4:29 pm
I think I’m loving the comment about as much as the rest of us here… “she’s newborn and she’s normal size” ?!?!??!
That’s about as informative as “she’s a baby”.
Give me a break, you have to start worrying when that’s all people can say about a baby…
July 19th, 2006 at 5:04 pm
Someone must have realized that a family friend describing a baby as “a newborn” and “normal size” is kind of strange: http://people.aol.com/people/article/0,26334,1216577,00.html
“She’s a beaming baby,” Remini tells PEOPLE in its new issue. “She looks like Tom and Katie. She’s just beautiful.”
As for Suri’s folks, Cruise is “one of those doting dads,” says Remini, who, like Cruise and Holmes, is a Scientologist. Holmes looks “beautiful – I’m jealous of her. She bounced right back.”
“They’re just great parents,” Remini adds. “There wasn’t a second that she was out of their arms except when I held her.”
July 19th, 2006 at 7:23 pm
Very strange. Most times when you hear a celeb talking about a friend’s baby, it’s a big deal, they’re gushing about how cute it is … this comment is very odd.
July 19th, 2006 at 7:31 pm
How funny, that Tom Cruise pronounced that she had blue eyes to People, but Leah says that she has dark eyes. I’m more apt to believe that her eyes are red..
July 19th, 2006 at 10:43 pm
Tom Cruise also said she had CURLY hair
July 20th, 2006 at 2:23 am
I think what is being overlooked is the fact that this is a well orchrastrated, controlled event by Tom himself. Unfortunately, Katie herself has disappeared from “life” except for a few sighted outings and when asked about her new one, seems to be fearful of expressing any emotion or response that may not agree with the events already set in motion.
July 20th, 2006 at 9:33 am
I believe there is a baby. I think Tom Cruise is a media tramp and that is why he has not show her yet. He likes to see his name in print on a daily basis, it boosts he ego and assuages that Napolean complex he has. If a non-scientology person had said that they saw Suri it would have been more believable. Leah Remini stated the baby has dark hair and is normal size. What does that mean exactly? Not she has dimples or is cute or anything vaguely descriptive of a baby. This just get weirder by the minute. I hope the baby and Katie are well. Tom can take care of himself.
July 20th, 2006 at 11:12 am
Just so I have it right: according to US Weekly, Leah met Suri several weeks ago, but according to People, she only saw her recently. The two aren’t necessarily contradictory, if Leah has seen Suri on more than one occassion, but that’s really not how the situation comes off in People. And it’s Leah Remini, of all people, she who defended Tom’s remarks about PPD and herself criticized Brooke last year. Honestly, has Tom’s sister secretly returned to do his PR again?
July 20th, 2006 at 12:09 pm
Did anybody catch the episode of South Park last night about scientology?? Yeah yeah I know South Park?? It was suppose to be controversial and the scientologist tried to get it band from airing, they failed! There was one part where they were saying Scientologist believe in space aliens and brainwashing yada yada yada, and there was a ticker rolling across the bottom of the screen saying “this is what scientologist acutally believe” So I know this sounds juvineile but it was hilarious!! And I always thought scientology was a crock of sh*t!!!
July 20th, 2006 at 10:05 pm
Hello, do people deliberately misread things concerning these two. US Weekly said another source said she had dark eyes not Leah and that is not much of a stretch. You can have two people looking at the same eyes and depending on what they’re wearing, or the lighting whatever their eyes could be a different color. Katie eyes at times looks hazel, greenish brown, and based on lighting and clothing even dark.
And it says a lot that people wont believe her because she’s a scientologist. So what, they arent people like you and me? Why will Leah and her husband (thru their rep, he also saw her)The hate is starting to get out of control and frankly border on bigotry if you ask me. Let them believe in whatever the heck they want, I’m sure they love and care for their children like everyone else and arent running around eating their children, rme.
July 21st, 2006 at 6:35 am
Mystique, I absolutely agree. It’s reached a stage now where somebody can’t say ANYTHING AT ALL anymore in regard of Suri without people tearing it apart. Only because “someone saw her and said she had dark eyes” doesn’t mean the child really DOES have dark eyes. If anything, that person probably just caught a quick glimpse of the baby and THOUGHT she had dark eyes. My son had dark lashes as a baby and his eyes looked dark at times especially when they were only half open.
Also, Leah said a lot of sweet things about Suri and her parents, not just that one sentence about her size! It’s become quite ridiculous now.
