Marcia Cross is pregnant!
Marcia Cross, 44, is pregnant and expecting her first child in April. She married stockbroker Tom Mahoney in June.
Marcia has been quite open in the recent past about the realities of conceiving later in life. She told USA Today, "I don’t like the average woman being misled into thinking that fertility is something that goes on forever. When a woman gets older, they get a donor egg, which doesn’t make the baby any less beautiful or perfect. One’s own eggs only last so long, and sometimes at 43 or 44 you can have your own baby, but statistically it’s very difficult and expensive. You don’t want to wait that long." It is unclear if she herself went the donor egg route, since with the timing of the pregnancy, it could very well be a honeymoon baby as well!

Wow! Is she married? If not, who is the father? That’s great for Marcia. I know she has said in past interviews that she wanted kids and was aware that her maternal clock was ticking (she’s in her early 40’s I think).

I think Marcia is exactly 40 years. yeah! I am so very happy for her. And I think she is gorgeous!!

If she’s due in the first part of April, she’s probably about 8-10 weeks. I’m due April 14th and will be 9 weeks this coming Friday.
How fun to get to be pregnant at the same time as such a classy celebrity!

People gave Marcia’s age as 44. Wow! It is nice that it happened so nice and quickly for her!! Who knows…maybe she did IVF or something right after they got married?? Or maybe it was just the right time for her! Either way I ma really happy for them!

Just looked Marcia up on IMDB, they list her as 44…maybe she’s due earlier than April and are past the first trimester?

I think she’s 44 and I’m astonished she got pregnant so fast. Lucky her! I think they got married last June and she’s due in April. Personally, I’d wait a bit longer before announcing it, but maybe she just didn’t feel like hiding it? In any case, I hope everything goes wonderfully for her.

Aw that’s cool! LOL! This is exactly like last year when Jack White married red-head model Karen Elson on June 1st, ‘05, and then they had a baby on May 2nd, ‘06 (I think), so yeah it can happen to celebrities too.
That’s cool if Marcia & her husband can get pregnant so soon, especially at their (slightly advanced) ages of 44 and 50. I hope all goes well and they have beautiful and healthy children.
As far as older celeb moms, wasn’t ladies like Gina Davis, Marcia Gay Harding, Madonna, etc. in their mid-late 40s for their kids’ births too?

That is awesome news! I love Marcia Cross. As for her somewhat older age, I have a neighbor who first gave birth at age 41 and then again at age 43, with no fertility treatments whatsoever. I think that is the exception and not the rule, so congrats to Marcia and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

I’m really happy for them! She mentioned in a recent tv interview doing multiple cycles of IVF with Donor Eggs, and I’m glad to hear an older celebrity mom be so open & honest about this.
