"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Sofia Coppola speaks of her pregnancy

Tags: News

Director Sofia Coppola, 35, talked to USA Today about her impending parenthood and pregnancy. Sofia recently revealed she is expecting a daughter: "I’m so excited to have a little girl. All those little dresses. I tried to be open about both sexes, but it’s so fun to have little girl stuff." She and boyfriend Thomas Mars of the band Phoenix have yet to pick out a name. "We’re going to wait and see. When you’re writing, you pick names for characters, but it’s harder in real life." Coppola’s first child is due in December.

I think her reaction is very typical of new moms who find out they’re having daughters despite trying to remain neutral. My mom always tells the story about how she didn’t care at all whether her baby-to-be (me) was going to be a boy or girl, but when the doctor told her she was having a daughter, she yelled, “YES!,” which led the doctor to say, “Wow. I guess you really wanted a girl, huh?” Sofia’s right though-there is too much adorable little girl stuff out there to count, so she’ll have a blast!
I wonder what sort of name she’ll choose. I hope it’s something as elegant as Sofia-maybe Isabella? (my personal favorite).

Perhaps I am the oddball, but I really was neutral. You should have children because you want a CHILD, not because you want a BOY or a GIRL. To say “I tried to be open about both sexes” is really kinda immature. Having a child is not about clothes. I wonder how all these moms will feel when their girls hit puberty and grow a mouth on them! If i have a daughter I am sure I will love her just as much as my son, but find the mama’s boy relationship to be indescribably endearing.

I could definitely see Sofia going ga-ga over littler girl dresses. I always love how she dresses.
