Heather Mills claims Paul McCartney didn’t want her to breastfeed
Update: Many readers are questioning why we are coveringthis. We chose to cover this story because of the way parenting,especially breastfeeding, was used as a reason for divorce, and becauseit involves a celebrity baby. Reasons for the divorce between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have been revealed in legal documents. In addition to Heather’s claims that Paul was physically abusive to her, she also alleges that when she was pregnant, Paul told her several times that he did not want her to breastfeed their daughter Beatrice, now almost 3, as they were "his breasts" and didn’t want a "mouthful of breast milk." However, Heather says she did choose to breastfeed Beatrice, but gave up after 6 weeks after constant interuptions and complaints from Paul. As with all divorce proceedings, we must take this with a grain of salt because it is very much a he said/she said thing. As some readers have pointed out, Paul’s first wife Linda breastfed their kids and is into a vegetarian lifestyle so Heather’s breastfeeding story seems unlikely.
No decisions on the custody of Beatrice have currently been made, though Heather is apparently asking for full custody with visitation rights for Paul.

I am saddened that their divorce has become so bitter and public. I don’t think it’s really necessary for Heather to drum up pity for herself by making accusations about what Paul did during their marriage. It’s tacky. Paul’s previous wife was a vegetarian and into natural foods and I should think that she most likely breastfed their children. I hope that they can be dignified and do everything to make their divorce as painless as possible for their daughter.

I take divore proceedings with a grain of salt. There is a lot of hurt and a lot of times, people in the battles make things seem worse than they really are so they get an upper hand.

I think that it is interesting that Ms. Mills is trying to make Mr. McCartney look so maladjusted after what we know was a long and successful marriage to his first wife, Linda.
I don’t think that the information being presented by either side during an ugly divorce can be viewed as sincere.

Good Lord, this divorce is out of control! I have a feeling much of what has been alleged is nasty fabrication-that does not sound like something Paul would say AT ALL to me, nor does the allegation that he hit Heather-but either way, it’s really sad that their relationship has come tot his. At least Beatrice is too young to fully understand what’s going on, though I’d imagine she’s extremely confused.

This sounds like a nasty rumour, nothing else. Paul was known to be very supportive and encouraging of Linda’s breastfeeding their children. So why would we think he would not also be supportive of Heather and his youngest daughter?

I usually try to keep my nose out of such allegations. However, there is something to this that seems a little fabricated. Paul and his first wife Linda were staunch vegetarians– for support of animal rights and their health. Perhaps I am being naive, but I would assume that Paul would therefore support breastfeeding for its health benefits.

If this is coming from Heather Mills herself I highly disregard it
She seems to be litterly milking Paul for all he has
I have never been a fan of hers
I find her to be not very genuine when I have seen her speaking and quite rude with people at times
She has a lot to gain from this divorce and nothing to lose except his millions
The man was married for years to his other wife whom passed away and was devastated by her loss
His character did not portray the things she has been accusing him of

You say you won’t do any postings on celebrity couples going through a divorce, yet you print the claims of a woman who has already proven herself a liar, while she’s going through a divorce with no pre-nup and trying to keep custody? You lose credibility over things like this. Shame on you!

I agree. It seems strange that Paul would not allow Heather to breast feed. Paul seems to be really in to health and a good, healthy, natural lifestyle. I am having a hard time beleiving Heather. I guess we will wait and see.

Nah. I don’t believe that story one bit. I think Heather is conniving and trying to act all innocent. LIke everyone else, he led a healthy lifestyle with his other wife so I suppose he would with Heather as well.

It’s interesting that Heather has always claimed not to be a ‘gold-digger’ yet she’s making these allegations for a bigger divorce payout. If she wasn’t in it for the money why not accept a couple of million and be done! Their daughter at some point is going to be old enough to read these allegations against her dad

Hey…he’s done his fair share of bashing in the media lately. He changed the locks at their London home and her security guard climbed the wall to get in, and was arrested. It’s still communial property, so she should have access to it.
I’m not saying she’s wrong or right here, but he’s no saint.

Who knows what’s true. Maybe what she’s saying is slightly true….She could drink quite a bit or be a pill popper and he might not have wanted her to breast feed because of that.
I read an article on PerezHilton.com and it had a link to a British paper and it was an interview with her dad and he said she’s mad and in her autobiography alleged that he (her father) beat the family too.

Does anyone here have any actual PROOF that Linda Mccartney breastfed her kids? Just being a vegetarian and supporting animal rights does not make it a fact, as some here have suggested. Evidence, anyone?

It’s sad that this divorce has become so nasty. And all I seem to read is what Heather claims. I really take what she’s saying with a grain of salt since Linda was into healthy living and breast-feeding. Heather is just making herself out to look worse and worse to the public.

I have read all of the accusations thrown out by Ms. Mills and all of them seem preposterous to me. For example, she claims that he (Paul) made her crawl on her hands and knees to get to the bathroom at night, which makes absolutely no sense, considering that she has not only several artificial legs, but also a motorized AND manual wheelchair, and if need be, a pair of crutches.
The breastfeeding claim has to be the lowest blow, and I believe she’s simply using that fable as a way of explaining her lack of interest in breastfeeding, and the backlash she received from her vegan husband when she chose to feed their daughter processed cow milk.

I read this in the newspaper yesterday and all I could think of was little Bea growing up and reading the old newspaper articles about what Mummy was saying about Daddy, and imagining what she will feel like. Poor little girl

Heather Mills has made other abuse accusations in her life that have been questioned. She claims she was abducted and held captive by a molester for several days as a young child, but her father says she was never abducted. A childhood friend sued Heather for “stealing” the story from her (the friend says it actually happened to her, not to Heather), and they settled out of court. Heather also says her father abused her.

Heather Mills is lying!!! As if anybody is going to believe the stories she is coming out with. I have never liked her, she is a gold-digger. I saw a documentary about her last year. She was married when she was 19 to a rich arab, it only lasted 3 years. He has spoken about her recently and said that she was a compulsive liar and that she was just interested in his money. I feel so sorry for Paul right now.

she’s just out to get Paul and his money and if u ask me she’s not entitled to any of it. As far as the baby is concerned there should be a trust fund set up for her where money can be put into it for whatever the child may need but as far as Heather trying to take what she’s supposedly asking is ridiculous!
And the breastfeeding thing, PLEASE.

This is indeed totally uncalled for. I’ve been following their divorce since the beginning but now it’s gone to far. I don’t even believe a single word this woman says anymore. All she’s trying to do is make Paul feel bad. She’s now saying Paul hit Linda too! Not true! Their marriage lasted 30 wonderful years. They were a wonderful couple with wonderful kids. I just feel for Paul and little Bea right now. She should be put first before anything.
