Faith Hill talks about motherhood and marriage

Faith_hill5Faith Hill’s career as a singer takes her all over the world – but she says that no matter where she is performing, she always is a mom.

"I’m able to shift gears from mom to performer to mom pretty quickly.  It doesn’t both me when the kids run in while I’m getting dressed.  And in terms of coming offstage, the minute you walk through the door and your kids run into your arms, you’re smacked in the face with a dose of reality: It’s like, this is my real life."

Faith and her husband and fellow singer Tim McGraw have three girls: Gracie, 9, (in photo) Maggie, 8, and Audrey, 4.  She says that one of the most important things they can instill in their children is self-worth.

"Tim and I are strict parents, but we’ve taught them to stay independent, even at a very young age.  We want them to be able to think for themselves."

Faith was adopted when she was a few days old.  She believes that the attention that famous parents like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have brought to adoption is important – as is the love that her own parents bestowed on her.

"I’m thankful there are people out there who do adopt!  I have a wonderful family: My parents are churchgoing, salt-of-the-earth Southern people.  They gave me a lot of love and are so unaffected by fame.  Someone always says to my mom, ‘Wow, I bet you’re really proud of your daughter.’ And she replies, ‘Yes – I’m proud of all my children.’"

When asked how she and her husband keep their marriage together with such busy schedules – she says it’s a simple philosophy.

"I love him more than I did when I married him.  It’s not all bliss, but commitment is what love is about."

Faith and Tim recently completed their Soul2Soul II Tour 2006.  Tim’s next album is due to be released next February, and Faith is reportedly working on a Christmas album.

Well now! I never believe any of the negative reteric about Faith. Dont hear that much anyway. Other than her clowning at the awards. She is a very special old friend of mine. And i know her humor. I was laughin when i saw it, very fondley, becouse it remeinded me of the times we kidded around. And all the decent times we had in the Past. I am so very happy for her. If she hadnt been a Nashville star. she’d a been the next Lady, Tim the tool Man Taylor. She is funny,,warm,,careing,,And so special i very seldom mention her name. Its that sacred to me. Ya She is just like that. From Her Old Friend Captian Buddy In Michigan, Former Nashville Guy. And If you think of Tim McGraw,,Please think of my favorite Song. (MY BEST FRIEND). Thanks Faith, for being a part of my Wonderfull life.
