Premiership baby boom continues – baby on the way for Arsenal star Robin Van Persie

Update: #2: It’s definitely a boy named Shaqueel.
Update: The baby was born Thursday, November 16th. Reports are varying, with some outlets announcing that the baby is a girl. However, most report the birth of a boy named Shaqueel.

Originally posted November 15th: Footballer Robin Van Persie, 23, who plays in the English Premier League with Arsenal FC as well as being part of the Dutch national team, is to become a father.
Robin was due to take part in Holland’s friendly game against England on Wednesday but has withdrawn after announcing that his Dutch-Moroccan wife Bouchra is expecting their first child within days.

They announced the pregnancy in early June; the baby was thought to be born around Christmas.
Looking back, Bouchra got pregnant in the same month charges were dropped against her husband. In June 2005 he was accused of raping a Dutch beauty queen and spent some time “behind bars” during the accusations.

Sorry about that guys – the British media is not that great at reporting celebs babies so its not always easy to figure these things out!

On wikipedia, it says bouchra gave birth to a baby girl. Wiki is always truthful isn’t it?
But then again reports back in Holland say its a boy called Shaquille.
What a unique name! I actually like it. All the best for them.

Yes, it was also confirmed in the official programme notes at the Arsenal game on Saturday – definitely a baby boy named Shaqueel!
