Gillian Anderson welcomes a son
It’s a boy for X-Files star Gillian Anderson, 38, and her partner Mark Griffiths. Son Oscar was born in London on November 1st, weighing in at 6 lbs, 8 oz.
The birth was not announced until today, as little Oscar was 3 weeks early and had some health issues, requiring a stay in the NICU. However, "Mother and baby are fine now," says a rep.
Oscar joins older half-sister Piper Maru, 12.

Wow .. How Happy I am! .. Lovely Mother, lovely son… I like the name too for a boy, it could be some odd celebrity name, but she chose a good one.
Hope they are fine now.

YEAH!!! I’m soooo x-cited for her!!! I looove her!!!! Woo-Hoo!! I really was wondering where she was for the past few weeks too! Oh, I hope the little guy is OK! I bet P is a really happy big sister too!!

Love the name – I have a baby Oscar too! Wonder if Gillian’s Oscar has red hair like she does (mine’s a little blond baby).

She doesnt have red hair actually, even if in this picture looks like and if when she was playing Scully she also would have it. She is blond and I think the baby is also blond.

never was fond of the name Oscar (reminds me of Sesame Street too much) but I think it goes well with Piper (another name I’m not fond of)! lol

Uhm… Oscar? Dang, girl! It could’ve been worse, but *Oscar*??? Well, I guess he *was* born in London and that’s where she’s “making her home for now” so the unattractive name fits. I bet he’s cute as hell, though, so it will definitely make up for it.

From the sound of things on this thread, I guess I don’t have to worry about Oscar becoming too popular! Oh well, this is exactly why I chose to name my son this. I wanted something unique. Hats off to Gillian :>

I wonder if the name comes from a family name. I wonder what his middle name is. Pipers middle name is Maru…Piper Maru. So neat. I hope Oscar has a cute middle name too. So lovely!

Wish I could know.. I just think is more likely blond, since she is blond.
