Pregnant Mel B in London – is Eddie the father?
Former Spice Girl Mel B was spotted arriving at London’s Heathrow airport earlier this week. Mel, looking fashionable in a fur-lined wrap top, leggings, spike heels, bling, and a leopard print belt slung under her belly, is currently 5 months along with what is rumored to be Eddie Murphy’s baby. The new little one will join her daughter Phoenix Chi, 7 1/2, from her first marriage.
She told waiting photogs, "I’m feeling great – I couldn’t be happier, and I’m really looking forward to the baby."
While being interviewed by Dutch TV over the weekend, Eddie was asked if he and Melanie were excited about the baby. He responded, "You’re being presumptuous, because we’re not together anymore. And I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir." Yikes! It was just announced that he’s been dating Babyface’s ex-wife Tracey for about 6 weeks.

i think she does look pregnant, but she nor eddie never talked about their relationship publicly, nevermind how long she’s been pregnant. five months is just a speculation.

I was just informed that they are no longer together and Eddie is questioning whether he actually is the father.

Eddie has five children with ex-Wife Nicole Mitchell. Their names are Bria, Miles, Shayne, Zola, and Bella. He also has two other children that he does not see named Ashlee and Eddie, Jr.

That Eddie – what a class act. I hope for Mel B.’s sake that her baby isn’t Eddie’s. He sounds like a huge jerk. A bigger man would have just redirected the interview and politely told the person asking the question that he didn’t feel like answering personal questions.

He seems like a total jerk. There are other ways to answer the question, such as “no comment”. I’m sure she really doesn’t need the extra stress right now.

I never thought Eddie could be like that, but I guess I was wrong. I kind of thought they had probably broken up because she was pregnant, but hoped I was wrong. What a scumbag – I hope that kid is his and he gets taken for all he’s worth… what a jerk!
PS: I wonder if he’s saying this because Mel was pictured out with some guy in London? She reportedly begged the papparazzi to leave her alone because she was going to be in trouble over the pics.

He could’ve worded what he said differently. I however can understand how he could be unsure. She is around 5 months pregnant and they hooked up around 5 months ago. That means that they slept together right away when they first met. She could’ve easily hooked up with somebody else fast like she did with Eddie. I’m not saying that’s what happened, but it’s a possibility.
How he said his feelings was rude. He could also be saying his doubts, because he doesn’t want to be responsible for another kid. He just wants to play around. Alot of guys who don’t want to face their responsibilities usually end up insulting the ex’s character and morals, as well as paternity.

I really don’t like that guy ! He has 7 kids !!! 2 kids he don’t even see..please…he knows what he did with her and what he didn’t do! When they were ating it was like it was the biggest love story and now she’s pregnant he’s just behaving like a jerk!

Eddies sounds like he is bitter, the papers say he and Melanie only dated a month or so before she fell pregnant and most men would be peeved of with that.
Granted you play with fan, you might get burned. He has lots of children and knows how the heck they come to be so should have been more careful.
I just feel so sad at the amount of children being the centre of big gossip stories in the media before they even leave the womb.
Some women will fight for money, if I were Melanie I would do a Liz Hurley. Hold my head up high, walk away and bring the child up myself. One day that foetus will be able to read and if Eddie is his/her father it won’t make for good reading.

Definitely agree that he should have just kept his mouth shut. But there are two sides to every story. None of us know what brought about the end of that relationship. I don’t mean to excuse his behavior but he’s human; I just wonder if he may have justification for being so bitter and angry.

Can someone explain to me what is so disrespectful about Eddie setting the record straight about the baby instead of allowng rumors like this to continue and possibly make him look bad? Honestly, some of the reactions here make me seriously question certain posters’ senses of morality. What exactly do you make of a woman who briefly dates one man, goes on to possibly date another, and gets pregnant in the process? Why would Eddie want to be associated with that if he doesn’t have to be?
I really don’t understand why so many people are jumping to Mel’s defense and quick to call Eddie a jerk. Maybe you should re-evaluate the situation instead of jumping to conclusions.

I cannot support Eddie in any way. How many awful things does he have to do before women just realize he’s a dog and move on? First was the tranny, (ok, he was helping her out of the rain) then leaves his wife of 12 years for Mel, she becomes pregnant, and he leaves her for Babyface’s ex-wife. Mel didn’t even know they were broken up, she gave an interview on Sunday saying how happy they were. And let’s not forget his questionable relationship with Johnny Gill.

My sentiments exactly.
I can well imagine that he has most likely been posed that question several times and perhaps this particular time he felt the need to set the record straight. No one, except for Eddie and Mel, really knows what happened so we should not jump to conclusions. I have never seen Eddie behave poorly, or anything but respectfully, so we need to keep that in mind as well.

Lauren – it’s not what he said, it’s the WAY he said it. Considering he made no comments about his relationship with Mel when they were dating, imo he should just keep his mouth shut now. If he must say something, he should tell the interviewer to ask Mel about *her* baby and leave it at that. A guy with seven kids – two from separate previous relationships – is really in no position to pretend that it’s an insane assumption that he got his girlfriend pregnant. It’s like Courtney Love being offended that people would assume she had done drugs. Gimme a break!

I agree with PSB. I have no problem with Eddie wanting to set the record straight, I just believe he could have done so in a kinder way. In my opinion, his comment alludes that Mel may have been sleeping around. That’s kind of unfair to say on national TV without her being able to defend herself. Eddie’s usually such a private person, I would have expected a little more decorum from him.
