"My baby self weaned despite me trying to keep up the nursing! I find it so refreshing to hear Gwen talk about how hard she works to lose weight and keep herself in top shape. She looks great and has a beautiful family."

Ben Affleck doesn’t want to embarrass Violet

Ben Affleck has other people to think about besides himself- his wife, Jennifer Garner, and their 1 year old daughter Violet.  "I’ve never been very judicious about my own behavior or choices until they had an impact on people other than me," Ben, 34, told USA Today.  Now, he just wants Violet “to be proud of her old man.”

Ben and Jennifer didn’t sell pictures of Violet like some other celebrity couples do.  Ben doesn’t like the tabloids but accepts that they are a part of his job.  Violet, on the other hand, "didn’t make the bargain I did. She didn’t make that choice. And I don’t want her to have to pay for the parents’ sins. I try to protect her privacy. I’ll end up in the magazines, and that’s life, and I can live with it, but I try to shield my daughter."

He is now is a changed man and settling down in his role as Daddy. "Yes, I’ve changed diapers," he told People magazine Wednesday at a New York City screening of his movie Hollywoodland. "Parenthood, the whole thing is wonderful. All the clichés that all the people bore you with are, in fact, true."

Maybe he wants to join the club that his buddy Matt Damon was talking about

They are like the all American wholesome family (at least outwardly). I love it. I wish some other Hollywood parents would follow suit (ie Brit).

  2. LaMama Says:

They are such a great family. I love how they shun all the media attention and try to live a normal life. I especially love how they are respecting Violet by not flaunting her to the public or selling pictures to the highest bidder. Yay Ben and Jen!

It is a little easier to make the decision not to sell your baby pics if you arent being hounded for them. Some actors like Gwyneth Paltrow showed her son on People Magazine to keep the vultures at bay for a while. Others have done the same. I dont know what GP did with the money for her pics, but I respect what the Jolie-Pitts did, knowing their child was going to be hunted and someone was going to get a huge payday.. they took charge and made that money go to children who needed it.

Also, it is rather ironic that I have seen more Pictures of Violet than I have of most of the babies whose parents DID allow their pics to be sold.

When you are in the public eye, as Ben said, that goes with it. Imagine if he and Jen were more hunted after than they are? I respect his decision to try and have a normal life. Isnt that what most parents want for their children?
