"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

RUMOR: Footballers’ Wives actress dumped by hubby due to pregnancy

Tags: News, Rumors

Laila Rouass, 31, the actress who plays Amber Gates on the British cult hit show Footballers’ Wives, has reportedly been deserted by her husband because he did not want her to keep the baby she is carrying. Laila married technology tycoon Nasa Khan in November 2005 shortly after meeting at a party.

“They have split due to the fact he is not very happy about the pregnancy," says one of her best friends. “Laila has moved out of the marital home.”

The actress had reportedly been feeling sick and suffering from back pain. Thinking she may have had a kidney infection, Laila went to the doctor and found out that although she had been on oral contraceptives, she was pregnant and due sometime around February or even late January.

Laila’s friends say she was excited about the news, but when she went home to tell Nasa, he became upset and said that the marriage was over.

God i loved her in Footballer’s Wives – her husbands worth £75 million but in my eyes after his horrid behaviour he’s not worth anything! i just hope she gets as much of his money as she can and move on with her new baby

  2. Aleah Says:

Considering it’s the Sun reporting, I’d take this with a pinch of salt, but if it’s true, then she has all my sympathy. It must be horrible that your husband left you because he doesn’t want the baby you’re carrying.

  3. Stacy Says:

Devestating.. men like that shouldn’t be fathers anyway.

  4. Heather Says:

She’s absolutely gorgeous! She doesn’t need him anyway…I couldn’t imagine my husband not being proud of his child growing within me. Then again we tried to have a baby and they were using birth control. If it’s true, maybe she left him?

  5. Holly Catherine Slavic Says:

    wow, what a total jerk….

  6. Maximum Big Surprise Says:

    What a selfish bastard!

  7. melissa Says:

to be honest that little one will be a lot better off without a father like that in the picture.. he needs to remember it does take more then one person to become pregnant…i hope all goes well for her.

  8. Mia Says:

Exactly the same thing happend to a friend of mine. He married her for her looks, she love.. She got pregnant, he threw her out. She divorced him and got a substancial amount of money. He rots, she found new love got engaged and has had baby no. 2 with Mr. Right. Anyway good luck to her!

  9. Snark the News Says:

What a bozo he is. She’s better off now anyway and so is the baby. Better to find out before it can leave emotional scars on the little one. How rude of the guy!

  10. Christina Says:

What a tool. She’s better off without him if that’s his attitude. If he didn’t want kids, why was he having sex with her? No birth control is 100% effective, doesn’t he know that??

  11. FC Says:

Good riddance to the husband if he’s balking because she’s pregnant. It takes two to tango, buddy, even when you don’t want it to happen just yet. It’ll happen when you least expect it.

I’d rather he leave now insted of being around to serve as a reminder of someone who didn’t want the child, probably would love it, and that poor baby would know it. I’d hate to explain to my child why their father didn’t want them, didn’t love them, etc.

Good luck to her. And wow, she must be one of those mothers who’s barely showing at six months.

    Anyway, good luck to her.

  12. kit Says:

i know ZERO about anything of the sort- but can you really NOT tell at six months sometimes? thats just mind, boggling, all things considered….

  13. elaine Says:

Totally classless. It’s proof that while any guy can get a woman pregnant, it takes a man to take responsibility for the child he helped create.

I do wish the best for the lovely lady and her baby.

  14. d Says:

Wait though, how do you not know your 6 months pregnant??? HE sounds like a jerk though too

  15. Punk_of_a_Tomboy Says:

Some women have their periods throughout their pregnancy and don’t gain a lot of weight, i remember a celeb baby a while back whose mother only gained around 7 pounds, and also not every woman suffers from severe morning sickness. There have been times when the woman didn’t know she was pregnant until she gave birth. It’s very possible she didn’t know she was pregnant.

  16. ryo_girl Says:

What a jerk. At the very least though, she’ll get child support, and with what he’s making, that’s quite a chunk right? It’ll serve him right.

  17. Erin Says:

I find it odd that she wouldn’t figure out that she was pregnant… especially if she were 5+ months along. I can understand 3 or 4 months but 5 or more? I don’t know…

As far as her husband is concerned… well, I find his actions – if true – disgusting but I also can’t help but think that there is more to the story than just that he doesn’t want the baby. Could he be thinking it were someone else’s? Could he think it was suspicious, like me and others, that she didn’t find out until now? Maybe since she finds out when she’s so far along that maybe she was hiding it until she could no longer do so?

    I don’t know… just my thoughts =)

  18. tink1217 Says:

If that is true, what a jerk!!! She is better off without him!

  19. ix Says:

I LOVED her in Footballers’ Wives. I always remember thinking that she looked like she’d be a good mum after the way I saw her with her baby (in the show). If it’s true, then she is so much better off without him; she is beautiful and can have anyone she wants. I wish her (and her baby, if its true) all the best.

  20. Jan Says:

Actually, my mom did not know she was pregnant with me until she was 5 1/2 months along. She (and now myself) have always had irregular periods, and it was comletely normal for her to go 6 months without one. Plus, all the home pregnancy tests AND the doctor’s tests kept coming back negative! It’s very rare, but totally possible.

  21. sarah Says:

Maybe they are just now reporting this, but she found out a while back? No actual dates are listed.

    What a jerk!!!!!

  22. PSB Says:

Didn’t she feel the baby kicking?? Weird. Anyway – her husband is a huge jerk who doesn’t deserve her. They should require a license to procreate. If he didn’t want kids, he should get a vasectomy.

  23. ericka Says:

    Favorite show!

    I’m so happy for her!

  24. Richard Says:

It was destined not to last from the beginning, oh come on this is Laila’s 2nd marriage (first marriage to a footballer)It’s evident she is a true footballers EX wife (that being she only goes for men with Money)!!! She obviously tried to pin him down and he wasn’t having it! 3rd time lucky .. Laila ??

  25. j.brown Says:

Unfortunately men like him are still found to be attractive by too many women.
