Madonna tells David Letterman about her son, “King David”
On the Late Show with David Letterman last night, Madonna told David Letterman about how her new son David is acclimating to his new family. She said, "He’s a champion tantrum thrower. By the way, do you like his name? King David, we call him."
As for adoption legal drama, she said,"We did everything by the book, and everything was kosher in terms of legal. But it brought a lot of attention to a country just coming to terms with the overwhelming number of orphans that are there. There are over a million orphans there … and in my opinion the laws need to change because these children need to be rescued."
Madonna says she sort of expected trouble, but not this much. She told Dave, "My social worker said, ‘Good luck. You’re going to be making it up as you go along.’ She didn’t say don’t do it, but she just said expect challenges, and, boy, did we get them."

Good on madonna, but re: millions of orphans…I don’t see how david was an orphan when he had family. orphan means having no parents and no one to care for you, not a dad who couldn’t. isn’t his new wife pregnant? maybe the meaning of ‘orphan’ varies around the world…
