Boris and Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe share what parenthood means to them
Actors Boris and Nicole Ari Parker Kodjoe welcomed their second child, Nicolas Neruda on October 31, 2006 – joining big sister Sophie, 22 months. Nicolas weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz, and his middle name is in honor of Nicole’s favorite poet, Pablo Neruda. Here are some highlights from the couple’s People interview:
To keep that memory of seeing his son for the first time, Boris took a picture of Nicolas right after he was born."It’s the most beautiful picture in the world – he was taking his first breath. The cord was still there, and he was looking up into the sky."
As for what it’s like for Sophie to have a new sibling, Nicole say that she absolutely loves it."[Sophie] kisses his toes before we put his socks on and pats his head when he cries. I keep wondering, ‘Where does she learn these loving things?’"
Boris also shared what it means to be a parent and how having children helped open his heart. He says, "Once you become a parent, you’re introduced to a whole new level of emotion. I want them to do well and conquer the world for them, like Superman. It’s as if a whole new chamber in my heart has opened up."

I think we should have a “find a more beautiful family than this one” contest. it would keep us busy for quite a while, because I’m pretty sure such a thing doesn’t exist.

Aww, I love them. I do. As much as I love Brangelina’s brood and Heidi-Seal clan, they’re another family I love. And little miss Sophie is just the cutest thing ever. I love her vest, too.
