"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Love Actually’s Heike Makatsch welcomes daughter

German actress Heike Makatsch, 35, who most readers will remember from her role as Mia, the scheming secretary in Love Actually, gave birth to a baby girl on January 23rd. Mieke Ellen is the first child for Heike and her longtime boyfriend Max Schröder, 32, the drummer in German band Tomte.

Heike was previously engaged to Daniel Craig, the newest James Bond.

Conrats to Heike and Max on the birth of their daughter! :)
I rather like Heike as an actress and Max is such a fantastic musician! He’s also one half of Olli Schulz und der Hund Marie and he released his first solo album (as ‘Der Hund Marie’) last year. It’s great!

I like the name Mieke, it’s cute. :)

    Something just occurred to me:
Ellen is the name of the character Heike played in “Keine Lieder über Liebe”. Max and Heike met while they were both working on the film.

You know, I’m thinking that Mieke might be a mix of their names. Max and Heike, with the “ei” turned around. :)

  4. Pam Says:

    It’s a Dutch name, I think.

I’m a while off from having kids but I promised a friend in high school I would name my first kid (providing it was a girl) after her and her name was Mieke. It’s pronounced Meeka. Hers was short for Michaela.
