Conrats to Heike and Max on the birth of their daughter!
I rather like Heike as an actress and Max is such a fantastic musician! He’s also one half of Olli Schulz und der Hund Marie and he released his first solo album (as ‘Der Hund Marie’) last year. It’s great!
I like the name Mieke, it’s cute.

Something just occurred to me:
Ellen is the name of the character Heike played in “Keine Lieder über Liebe”. Max and Heike met while they were both working on the film.

You know, I’m thinking that Mieke might be a mix of their names. Max and Heike, with the “ei” turned around.

It’s a Dutch name, I think.
I’m a while off from having kids but I promised a friend in high school I would name my first kid (providing it was a girl) after her and her name was Mieke. It’s pronounced Meeka. Hers was short for Michaela.
