Katie Price on her continuing postpartum depression
At the end of January, Katie ‘Jordan’ Price spoke on ITV’s Good Morning show detailing a bout with postpartum depression that has continued more than 18 months after giving birth to her last child. She says the depression made her "paranoid" and resentful of the relationship her children have with their nanny. She said,
I thought my kids didn’t want me. I want to know when it will be over. I’m still taking medication.
Katie is currently about 19 weeks along with her third child. She and husband Peter Andre raise two sons, 18-month-old Junior and 4 1/2-year-old Harvey.

You know what we can all do for Katie? Just say a quick prayer for her health. I think that’s the best thing for her right now. God bless her. She’s a beautiful woman.

This might sound catty but there has been a stack of pictures of her drunk and half-naked since the birth of Junior… perhaps the pescription medication isn’t mixing so well with her lifestyle.
I have a quick question or two… is it okay to be taking anti-depressants etc while pregnant? And what are the logistics on having post-partum while pregnant with the next child? Wouldn’t the new hormones be counter-acting the depression from the last one?

she has post partum depression now, why does she not come to the real world and raise children without a nanny

Lilybett, I have always heard that it’s not ok to take anti-depressants while pregnant, ESPECIALLY not in the first 3 months of pregnancy. However, maybe it’s ok once she hits the 4 months mark, and she’s past that now.

if she is worried about her kids calling the nanny ‘mom’ she should keep herself at home, and spend time with her kids and fire the nanny. obviously she does not care about the kids calling their nanny mom as much as she cares about her career ‘money’!!

That’s just lovely – bring 3 kids to the world, hire a nanny to care for them and them get mad bacause they bonded with nanny.

normal everyday families have nannies too, ya know! women with demanding jobs such as lawyers and doctors very often need live in help. its not just celebrities that need nannies. so do women lawyers and doctors and women with high pressure jobs have to make the choice either my family or my job?? No, they don’t. They can have both but its a trade off. Quality time, not quantity. Thats what I have always believed in. And I have been a stay at home mom since my kids were born. Celeb or not, why bash for career choices. You CAN be a mom AND have a career!

Oh, give me a break! Katie said in an interview right after Junior was born she had a night nurse who got up with Junior at all hours of the night and when she went away for vacation Katie had “such a hard time” getting up herself. And now she’s begrudging the woman who fed and spent time with the baby when he needed it most? Maybe if she’d stop letting the nanny be the mother her son wouldn’t be so confused.

And tink, no one here is saying that everyday families don’t have nannies as well-it is a well-known fact that several families have them, regardless of fame or lack thereof. We don’t need a lecture from you about how celebs are the only ones who have them. You have been quite snippy and rude lately, first in your posts about Britney and Anna Nicole and now here. I think it’s time you dismounted the high horse.

I dont think the fact that she has the nanny and works is an issue. Its that clearly she has enough money not to work but does so because thats what she wants. If she wanted to be with her boys, she could be with her boys. Clearly she wants to work and should not be so annoyed that she CHOOSES to hire nannys to look after the boys!
