Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady expecting
Despite a December breakup, actress Bridget Moynahan, 36, and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, 29, are expecting a late summer arrival.
Bridget’s spokewoman said Bridget is "healthy" and excited about the pregnancy. A separate statement to Us Weekly reads,
This is to confirm that actress Bridget Moynahan is over three months pregnant. Former boyfriend Tom Brady is the father. They recently split after a three year relationship. Privacy and consideration is appreciated at this time. No further comments will be made.
No word from Tom, but he has been seen out with model Gisele Bundchen as of late. Bridget and Tom’s split was blamed on an intense focus on work rather than the relationship – Bridget on her show, Six Degrees (now on hiatus but filming new episodes) and Tom on the Patriots run for the SuperBowl. At the time, both agreed the relationship was no longer working.

This is such a sad story. She has looked so sad since they broke up. I wonder if they knew when they split. I didn’t know with both of mine until I was 8 weeks along due to irregular periods. I hope they work it out for the sake of the baby. I hope they reconsider what’s really important and it isn’t a career.

Maybe that is why they broke up .
Her reps say she is pregnant…. did they say its his?
Just a thought?!
February 18th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Yes, the statement says that it is his baby. If the baby is due late summer, she probably got pregnant in late fall and found out just before or after they broke up.
February 18th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
Oh, I feel so bad for her. It’s not easy being pregnant, especially the first time. To do it alone has got to be rough – nobody to rub your feet, get you a glass of water. I hope they get back together.
February 18th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Well hopefully they make the best of the situation. She seems very happy about it and I’m sure she’ll make a wonderful mother. And who knows, maybe they’ll get back together.

i have noticed down the right side of your blog you suggest other blog sites. i have a problem coming to your site where i see a link to perez hilton. this morning perez put up a blog called “fill in the blank” with Victoria Beckham at Disneyland with her children, she tried to sheild young Romeo from the camera’s due to the fact that this child has epilepsy. Perez has been asked many many times to remove this cruel and disgusting pic, as im sure it scared the child. please remove your link to perez as i see you are the only blog left that cares for children and there well being. i truely am disgusted in his site and would hope that your website would set an example and not be affiliated with a web page that puts the child in danger. maybe you could voice your concerns with perez and get a better result than the rest of us. UK papers have refused to show pics of this child due to his condition, why cant the USA show the same concern and respect for an frightened child. set a president and take down links to sites that show these disgusting pics

maybe u could do a blog about romeo and why it is dangerous to take pics of him, and why it is wrong to pay for or autherize pics of him. please do not have links to sites that put children in danger…

I never liked Tom Brady. He seems very cocky. I hope Bridget manages to get through the pregnancy with no problems. From what I have heard, she is better off without him. He has said some pretty immature things in interviews and stuff…he seems a little childish still. Unfortunate that he is the father, but maybe it will make him grow up a little more.

Wow, I can’t help but feel sad hearing this. And then with Tom apparently seeing Gisele already…my heart goes out to her. I really hope that they can get along and make this experience a positive one.

I thought I would point out the title ‘Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady expecting’ of your article about Bridget and her pregnancy is misleading because it appears that they are a couple which they are not. They didn’t give a joint statement about the pregnancy so why give that title?
Good on Bridget! Being and pregnant and single is so not the end of the world. I wish her well.
February 18th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
Both names are mentioned because they are both celebrities, and Tom is named as the father in Bridget’s statement.
February 18th, 2007 at 6:36 pm
Whooaa! This one blindsided me. My bets are on them not knowing she was pregnant when they split. If the baby is due late summer, that;s about 8 months from January…they broke up in December, early December so I heard. So she was probably 1-3 weeks pregnant when they split. Of well Bridget is a class act I am sure with or without Tom she will make a great mom.

Meh…it happens. Babies are a blessing, and Bridget gives all appearances of being mature and financially stable enough to care for a child as well as she can. I’m sure she is thrilled and will do a great job. If they don’t believe they can make a relationship work, then I don’t believe they should get back together. The baby will be loved and will be fine, and then his parents will give themselves a better chance at their own happiness with other people — and in turn baby’s happiness too.

I’m happy for her, but sad as well. It can’t be an easy situation.
If the baby is due late summer (August?), she would’ve conceived in November, so they might have known she was pregnant at the time of their break-up.
February 18th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
It’s a shame that they broke up, but if it’s for the best, then all that matters is that they both focus on the baby – I’m sure they’ll be good parents.

FYI:
Six Degrees was not cancelled. It was on hiatus and they are currently filiming new episodes. I know this because Kristin (from the ‘Watch with Kristin’ colum) on EOnline.com just reported on it this week.
I wonder if they will write her pregnancy into the show?
February 18th, 2007 at 9:52 pm
my kids dad left us for another woman and chose that woman over his family so lets hope this does not happen to this child cause that is sad and i would loose alot of respect for tom if he did that
February 18th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
God Bless her and the beautiful baby. I can’t imagine what it would feel to be single and expecting. It will work out for the best though.
February 18th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
Chiara, I love babies, but if I were to get pregnant, it would not be a blessing. Not all babies are a blessing. Wanted babies and babies that can be cared for properly are a blessing. Babies that are not the above are usually just a heartbreak. That said, at least one of them wants to have the child, so good luck to Bridget. I’m waiting to see if Tom says anything.

I can not imagine what it must feel like to break up and then find out you are pregnant. I hope that Tom is there for her. He seems like such a stand up guy. My mother was a single mom. My father left and got married and had a child when he said he didn’t want that. I will lose all respect for Tom if he abandons this child. No one says you have to be in a romantic relationship with the mother. However, you are tied to that person for life. You created a child together you have to respect them.

I am a single mother who was in this exact same situation. Believe me – it’s not the end of the world! We weren’t working out and I’m glad we didn’t try to stay together simply for our son’s sake. Families come in all shapes and sizes and so long as the baby is loved, it will be fine! I got tired of people saying how bad they felt for me, how worried they were for the baby, etc. My son is perfect! Worry about the babies with NO parents, ABUSIVE parents, NEGLECTFUL parents, etc. Congratulations Bridget!
February 19th, 2007 at 11:37 am
personally I think they did know and it may have contributed to the breakup. Its widely known Bridget wasnted marriage and family and Tom wasn’t ready. I have never really like Tom Brady, although he is very handsome. Something about him just irks me!
I wish Bridget the very best and although she isn’t getting the “marriage” part of things, I am sure the “family” part has thrilled her regardless of the circumstances with the breakup. I’m sure she would have loved to settle down and marry Tom though. She will be a great mom! Lots of luck to her!
February 19th, 2007 at 11:44 am
I feel that she did this to keep him in her life. I mean, they’ve dated almost 3 years, and they conceive during/shortly after the break up month? He’s in his prime, one of the best QBs in the game and wants to date before he settles down; I wouldn’t be surpised if this is one of the reasons he split from her. Gisele must feel like an idiot. Anyhow, Tom Brady seems to be a stand up guy and I’m sure both parents will be there for their baby.
February 19th, 2007 at 12:44 pm
I wonder if they broke up because she is pregnant? He certainly wouldn’t be the first man in history to decide he didn’t want to be a father after he’d impregnanted a woman.
I really wish Bridget the best… hey, she might be the next Heidi – breaking up with her longtime boyfriend during pregnancy and then finding someone better to marry & share a terrific life with and have more children!
February 19th, 2007 at 12:47 pm
Just a note: my son was born August 14th and we got our first positive test on Dec 19th so if they did break up in early Dec as reported, then they wouldn’t have known about the baby.

Gee…Why are we all so sorry for Bridget? It`s not like Tom said he will not be a father for the baby. That he will left her all alone to take care of him. A lot of children have divorced parents. Celebrities or not. What`s the difference? And it would be worse for the baby if his parents had stayed together in a bad relationship. I don`t wish the best only for Bridget. I wish the best for her, him and the baby.

This comment kinda bugged me; she “did it to keep him?” Because a pretty, intelligent woman needs to get pregnant to “keep a man” right? Also she couldn’t have gotten pregnant if he wasn’t willingly having an intimate relationship with her, takes two to tango and all that. It’s also possible to be with someone for a very long time and not get pregnant. One of my closest friends was with her boyfriend for 10 years before conceiving and neither of them was trying for baby. At any rate I hope this works out for her since she seems to be on her own thus far, hopefully she has a strong support network of family and friends to see her through.

This is a big topic of conversation here in Boston. Everyone’s waiting for a comment from Brady.
I can’t help but feel a little sorry for Bridget. It’s got to hurt to see your unborn baby’s father move on to another woman so quickly & publicly. I hope she’s got a good support system to get her through it.

“The baby will be loved and will be fine, and then his parents will give themselves a better chance at their own happiness with other people — and in turn baby’s happiness too.”
What??? Babies (children) aren’t happy because their parents are happy. Babies (children) are happy because they’re made a priority. And being shuffled around from house to house, parent to parent is NOT how a baby (child) feels secure and important.
Frequently, they feel like their needs are the least important. It’s not a kids’ job to “adjust” or “adapt” because their parents want them to. It’s a parent’s job to put their own selfish needs aside so that the child will have a stable, intact home.
Kids don’t give a dang about their parents’ wants regarding their love life. If their parents were enamored enough with each other to have sex, then they should be able to get along and raise the kids. Casual sex–literally–screws over kids. If you’re not committed to one another, it’s casual sex.

I think people feel sorry for Bridget because it’s really hard to be pregnant alone and raise a child alone. Even the best support system in the world and having tons of money doesn’t replace having a partner to help you out emotionally on a daily basis. Yes, you can do it alone, of course, but it is MUCH easier with a partner.
I hope she has a close family. Maybe her mom or sister will move in with her for a while to help her out? The fact that her ex is publicly hooking up with a supermodel while she gets bigger and bigger cannot make her feel good—even if she doesn’t want him anymore. It’s just a sucky situation all around. The only good thing about it is that she obviously really wanted a baby and now she’s getting one. I am sure she will get lots of joy from her beautiful baby and I wish her all the luck in the world.
February 19th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Maybe she planned this pregnancy…
From what I’ve heard – she wanted to get married, but he wasn’t ready, which is why they broke up. So maybe this was an attempt on her part. Tom Brady is not cocky, and is very classy.
February 20th, 2007 at 8:51 am
Brady doesn’t have time to comment, as he is far too busy whooping it up w/ Gisele in the City of Light. He has romancing a supermodel and p**ntang on his brain right now. He wastes no time moving on with the booty train. If I were Gisele, I’d feel awkward about being with him right now. Then again, some women feel empowered by those types of situations.
February 20th, 2007 at 10:37 am
Hey justme,
How can you say that she did she do this to him? She didn’t get herself pregnant. If he didn’t want to have children, he could’ve taken extra precautions. It’s not her fault one slipped away and got her pregnant. Why should her getting pregnant be all on her? so what if he is handsome? There are millions of handsome men out there. I’m sure she won’t have a problem finding one. Besides, looks and money aren’t everything.
