Marcia Cross welcomes twin girls!

Marcia Cross, 44, and her husband Tom Mahoney welcomed fraternal twin girls, Eden and Savannah, on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Marcia’s rep says, "Mother and babies are all doing well."

The girls arrived about 6 weeks early (not unusual in multiples pregnancies). Marcia had been on bedrest since early January.

(In Touch Magazine had it right.)

  6. Nineveh Says:

Congrats to them! I knew she wasn’t going to make it till April looking at those recent pics.

The names are a little too soap opera for my taste, but they make a cute sib set nonetheless. :)

  7. Gabbie13 Says:

  8. tink1217 Says:

  17. Rye Says:

awwwww congrats! i thought she was gonna have a boy and a girl…but this is super cool!! I am still curious if these are her biological kids or not since she had trouble getting pregnant. not that it matters..i just have wondered that.

  18. Karen Says:

That is wonderful news! I bet Marcia’s
castmates are thrilled for her. How exciting.

  19. Jenny Says:

Congrats to Marsha! As a twin mama myself, I have to respond to the part of the post that says 6 weeks early is “normal for multiples.” About 50% of twins are early, meaning before 37 weeks. Coming 6 weeks early might be more common for multiples, but premature is premature and it shouldn’t be trivialized. In addition I wish that more people were aware of the fact that some twins are born at term. Mine came at 40w3d. Lots of twin moms end up induced at 36 weeks because there has come to be this idea that twins never go to term anyway.

OK, steppng off my soapbox now! Welcome Eden and Savannah!!

  20. Mary Says:

Congrats to Marcia and Tom. I love their little girls’ names. Can’t wait to see some pics. I’m pretty sure one, if not both, will be a redhead.

  21. Heather Says:

  26. Sanne Says:

  27. Aura Says:

  31. Lauren Says:

Congrats to Marcia and her husband. I’m sure the babies are just fine. People make too big a deal out of twins coming early nowadays. My sister and I were born 6 weeks early 25 years ago. While my sister weighed 3 pounds, I weighed 6 pounds. Neither of us had to stay in the hospital any longer than full term babies and we were never developmentally slow or behind the curve. I’m sure everything will be great.

  32. Corinne Says:

Congrats to them! Eden and Savannah are wonderful names!

  33. dream_faerie76 Says:

  34. PSB Says:

Love the names – esp Eden. Congrats to the new parents on the healthy babies. It must be really an amazing day for Marcia, because she thought she would never get to give birth to kids. Happy news!

  37. alexi Says:

Congrats to the new parents! I’m pretty sure that Marcia used donor eggs. Eden is okay. Savannah is not my style.

  38. Linda Says:

Gorgeous names. My two also arrived at 34 weeks. Now the fun really begins!

  39. louise Says:

Fab news, but I dont think they will have mummys red hair as they used donnor eggs….but you never know !!

  40. SY Says:

Louise, I think you can choose the “look” of an egg donor the same way women choose specific qualities of a sperm donor…maybe they will have red hair!
