Amanda Peet welcomes a daughter
Actress Amanda Peet is a first time mom after welcoming daughter Frances Pen on Tuesday. She weighed in at 6 lbs, 10 oz. The New York Post says Amanda was expected at a Wednesday lunch, but couldn’t make it because she went into labor the evening before. Us Weekly reports that the baby’s middle name is in honor of Amanda’s mom, Penny.
Frances is the first child for Studio 60 star Amanda and her screenwriter husband David Benioff.

Ah YAY!!! I was really looking forward to her having her baby. I cant wait to hear how she is and what they named the baby. I miss seeing her on STUDIO 60. I love being able to see her everyweek.
Good luck to her and her new family.

I’m going to miss seeing her if the show doesn’t come back. She was such a gorgeous pregnant woman and I was glad we could see a bit of her on TV during that time.
I’m very happy for her and wish them all the best.
Can’t wait to see a picture of their little girl.

Congrats to Amanda on the birth of her baby girl. Ironically, her Studio 60 co-star, Bradley Whitford also has a daughter named Frances.

Haha, another celeb baby named Frances. Nice and normal choice of name.
Pen sounds a little odd, but in context with her mother it seems fitting.

Such funny coincidences, considering Brad Whitford of Studio 60 and West Wing had a daughter Mary-Lousia(and has worked with Mary-Lousie Parker) and now Amanda has a daughter Frances and so does Brad. How crazy!
Congrats to her though! Best of luck to her during this sleepless time.

Oh congrats to them! I love the name Frances and considered it while I was pregnant with my twins (which ended up being boys so Frances wasn’t used).

I dont really like the name. But then again it is a very grown up name! She will grow into it!

I like the name Frances, much more refreshing than “Moxie CrimeFighter” and the like. But I think Penn or Penelope would have been a better middle name- “Pen” just seems odd. But, it’s nice that it’s after Amanda’s mother. Congrats to them!

Love the name Frances, but is it Frances Benioff or Frances Friedman? David Benioff’s last name is Friedman, his mother’s maiden name is Benioff. I like Frances Benioff, but Friedman seems like too many F’s.

Congratulations to them! I love the very normal name they gave their daughter. It seems nowadays that doesn’t happen very often with celebrities.

Frances? No offense, but was the baby born an 80 yr old woman? Wayyy too old fashion for me, not that I’d like it better if she named her daugheter something more common/normal…but still, Frances?

Aw, congrats to Amanda and David! I have to admit, I don’t like the name Frances. But it’s not my child so whatever. Hah.
