"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Teri Hatcher’s #1 priority: her daughter

Tags: News

by CBB correspondent Tara:

Teri Hatcher, star of ABC’s Desperate Housewives was recently interviewed by UK’s Easy Living Magazine and talked candidly about how much she values being a mother:

I’m really clear about my priority in my life – it’s being a mom. I have enough difficulty balancing doing the show for ten and a half months with being a mom the way I want to be.

Teri also told the magazine that she actually took 5 years off of work to spend more time with her daughter Emerson, 9. And now:

I still want to be at home. I want to be doing homework, I want to be making dinner. I think that’s a fairly common struggle for women – our guilt about motherhood and our lack of ability to participate and having to feel like we’ve got to work.

Teri went on to say that she loves movie acting but not anymore than being a mom:

I love doing films, and I’d like to do that, but I wouldn’t like to do it more than I’d like to be my daughter’s mother.

Although it seems that every spare moment away from the Housewives set is spent with her daughter, Teri has found a way to fit in one more activity:

I’m producing and writing and doing things that I think fit in to my mother schedule in a way that can complement Desperate Housewives.

Lastly, Teri opened up about her love of party-planning, saying,

I threw an enormous Halloween party last year; I built a huge maze with corn and hay, and cooked jambalaya. That’s what I should do; I should be a party planner.
