CBB/Jellyfish Shopping event: You pick the deals

Tags:

Jellyfish_logoWe’ve partnered with Jellyfish.com to offer ourreaders a chance to save up to 100% off on baby/kids/family stuff. On Wednesday, March 7th at 10 pm EST/7 pm PST, we’ll be offering aspecial evening of shopping of products at a deep discount.

How it works
Jellyfish’s Smack is a reverse auction: as timepasses, price drops. It’s like Woot!on steroids, but instead of one product in one day – it’s severalproducts in an even shorter amount of time. The game is to buy the product at the lowest pricepossible. Towards the end it can get as low as 100% off. The trick isthat you don’t know how many units are in stock, so if you wait toolong… you lose out.

SmackshowssIn the beginning of each event, the cash back amount increases every seconduntil a hidden quantity of items is sold out (or until the cash backamount reaches 100% – at which point, it’s free). The deal gets betterevery second that goes by, but if you wait too long the product is goneforever and the deal is over. (Think of it like "Deal or No Deal" forshopping.)  While you wait for the price to drop, you can chat with others.

At checkout, players pay full price, but receive the cash back via check within 60 days. Your credit card is charged by and sent from the vendor, not Jellyfish. The vendors are sites you know and trust like BabyCenter.com.

The shopping event will probably last two hours.

What do you want to buy?
We want to make sure we will offer products that you want so please tell us what you are planning to buy soon.  We will be need to pick 10-20 products to offer. They can be any size or price. If you have a specific brand, even better. Post a comment and tell us what you want to buy.

Here are some products I’m suggesting:
Bumbo Baby Sitter
Case of diapers
Strollometer (stroller odometer)
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn™ Learning Home™
Britax Roundabout Car Seat
Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump
Video iPod
Cranium Cadoo

Sign up now to be reminded about the shopping event and then come back on Wednesday at 10 pm EST/7 pm PST and shop away!

(By the way, we don’t make any money on this event. We just thought it would bea cool way for you to save money on the products you’re going to buy anyway.)

If Smack Shopping is too much action, you can also shop at nearly 1,000 stores via Jellyfish.com every day and get cash back on every single purchase (like Ebates).

This looks like a great idea and great opportunity!
I’d like to see some nursing shawls, like L’oved Baby. And slings like Karma Baby.

  2. Kim Says:

Our 7Am Enfant has been invaluable to us this winter. We have the 212 Evolution sleeping bag style, and though it’s very pricey, it’s worth it! It grows with your child, can be used as a toddler sleeping bag, unzips to a blanket, and my daughter takes much longer naps in her stroller than before!

  3. Mae Says:

Hmmm, I always want deals on the big ticket items and the every day things.
    Slings
    Car seats
    Strollers
    Play yard
    Cribs
    Diapers
    Wipes
    Robeez
    Slings
    Swings
    Bouncers
    Nursing covers
    Breast pads
    Belly Bands
    Diaper bags

    Hope that helps :-)

  4. Christine Says:

That sucks! Most vendors in the US don’t ship to Canada :-(

  5. Lorus Says:

A Britax Marathon, Decathalon, or Boulevard would be a better suggestion than the Roundabout. These three seats are convertibles and can keep a child harnessed until typically 5.5-6.5 years old. At which point they are ready for a booster seat. Kids usually outgrow the Roundabout at 3 when they aren’t mature enough for a booster and you’ll still need to spend additional money to keep them harnessed before buying a booster.

  6. lw Says:

this sounds fun! how about some great baby/toddler shoes, like see kai run, pedipeds, stride rite, or robeez? i agree about the slings–how about rockin baby slings? and some great diaper bags like fleurville, skip hop, or ju ju be? for strollers, maybe phil & teds e3 or valco baby runabout or jane powertrain? maybe some maternity jeans–gap?

  7. danielle Says:

can’t wait! i would like to see double strollers, slings/carriers, maternity products, diaper bags, bedding…just about everything!

  8. Angela Says:

    Pedipeds!!!

They are so great, but pricey and we go through them so quickly.

  9. georgia's mom Says:

I’d like to see the safeguard go booster it’s my next big ticket purchase

  10. d Says:

I agree that I’d prefer the britax marathon or decathlon over the roundabout. The kids can stay in them MUCH longer…one less carseat to buy. Plus, i’m looking for one in the Tiffany pattern for my 10 month old…

  11. Lorus Says:

d – Just a small warning. Tiffany is VERY bright! My daughter (6y3m) has an Arctic Cat Marathon for our car and then a Tiffany Parkway for other people’s. It is cute but it’s very… pink! ;)
