"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Bryce Dallas Howard welcomes a son

Update: Bryce’s sister Paige shares with Broadway.com that her new nephew’s name is Theo Gabel.

Originally posted February 16th: Actors Bryce Dallas Howard, 25, and Seth Gabel, 25, welcomed a son earlier today. A name and other birth stats were not released.

Baby boy Gabel is the first grandchild for director Ron Howard. We wonder if Bryce and Seth will give their son his middle name the same way Ron did to his children – by where they were conceived! Bryce mentioned in an interview that she was conceived in Dallas, hence her middle name. Her twin sisters have the middle name Carlyle – after the Carlyle hotel – and her little brother’s middle name, Cross, is after the road where the hotel Ron and his wife were staying was on.

Do your children’s names have any special ‘place meaning?’

I had already totally forgotten that she was pregnant. lol
Can’t wait to hear the name and I bet he has red hair.

  2. Kara Says:

Our son’s middle name is from the hospital and the church where he was baptized and also my brother’s middle name, Joseph. We changed the spelling to Josef.

  3. Lissy Says:

I didn’t know the story behind her middle name “Dallas.” I think that is so sweet. I can’t wait to hear what they named him. I bet he’s adorable, just hope he has his momma’s red hair!

  4. Brenna Says:

I dont have a child but in my family most of the kids middle names or first are from someone in the family, mine is Patricia after my dad Patrick, my sister’s middle name is Lauren after my uncle Laurence, my neice’s name is Brianna(after her mom Joanna and a mix of my name) and her middle name Tyler after my brother whos middle name is Tyler as well and my nephew is Adrien after his grandfather. I will continue the tradition as well because it is so neat for our family.

  5. MilaCole Says:

My daughter Mila who is 2 is named after her great- grandmother, and her middle name Joy is after the song that was playing when she was born (Joy to the World…it was christmas time). My son Nicolas (Cole) who is 1 is named after his grandfather, and his middle name is Alexander, after the street I grew up on. I love names that mean something and are in families, and am continuing with the tradition for my twins due in april!

  6. Jennie Says:

My son’s middle name is for his deceased grandfather who passed away before he was born. My daughter’s name doesn’t really have any special significance though…it was just something we liked. If we named our kids’ middle names after where they were conceived though, their middle names would be quite unique! :)

  7. Mandie Says:

My oldest daughter’s name is Layna and she was named after the character on Days of Our Lives (which is my all time fav soap)”Marlena”, which i was going to spell it Lena but everyone kept pronouncing it different…

  8. Adventures In Babywearing Says:

I think that’s a neat way to come up with names! My kids are mainly named after family for middle names (including my maiden name). Bryce’s little one was also born the same day as my oldest son… congrats to them!

  9. Aura Says:

In my family, everyone’s middle name is someone else’s first name – for example, my Dad’s middle name is John after his father, and my cousin’s middle name is Geoffery after our great-grandfather. My middle name is Jennifer after my grandmother.

I like Theo as a name, it’s cute, and she’s a good actress – Hope to see her in other movies sooner or later.
