Rumor: Posh to adopt a girl?
The Daily Star is reporting Victoria Beckham and David Beckham are planning to adopt a baby girl to fulfill Victoria’s dream of having a daughter. The former Spice Girl is supposedly "broody" after spending time with her new best pal Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise, 10 months. A source said,
She is desperate to have a daughter to be girlie with. Victoria loves the idea of having a girl to dress up, play with and make the family less male-orientated.
According to the source, Victoria is looking into a Mexican organization that Jennifer Lopez informed her of that finds homes for South American orphans.
Victoria’s rep, however, won’t confirm the reports, simply stating,
Victoria and David respect people who do adopt but they’re happy with their family at the moment.
The Beckhams have three sons together, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and Cruz, 2.

I would love for her to adopt and I know how she feels. I am a mother of two boys and I have a very stubborn husband so I would LOVE to have a little girl, but I would never be able to afford the costs of adoption. I just have to hope that the next time is a girl because it will be my last!!!

Daily Star made up things about the Beckhams all the time, they said Victoria was pregnant twice last year.

Looks like another “celeb” wants to jump on the adoption-bandwagon…

I think its scary so many celebrities are able to adopt so easily. I believe some, like Angelina Jolie, Calista Flockhart, and Mia Farrow are very sincere. But I think other like Madonna and Posh are narcissistic and they want kids for very superficial reasons. And what kills me is its usually with minority children. As I said before, God blesses those who appreciate what they already have.

Another adoption rumor…argh. It’s like ‘adoption’ is the new Jimmy Cho shoe! Seriously! I’m not saying anything against adoption as I think it’s wonderful, but celebrities treat it as the new ‘in’ thing. Remember when Jessica Simpson was considering adoption! LOL

I get upset when people want one gender over the other, but in the Beckham case, it’s a fair one. I remember Victoria and David saying once that they want to raise both genders, which is good. They’re already blessed and proud to be the parents of three beautiful boys, but they don’t have their little girl yet to complete the family. I know they love both boys and girls and they want both, so it makes sense, and I understand. Dosen’t bother me. If they had three daughters instead of three sons, it would be obvious that they would want a boy. But anyway, I hope the Beckhams get their daughter sometime soon, whether she is biological or adopted. That little girl is the last piece missing to complete the Beckham family. Anticipating on the news if it happens!!

Maybe when she has adopted a girl she will finally cut Romeos hair! ;- )

I think this is just a rumor. I’d really love for her and david to have a girl of their own though. not against adoption by the way, but they make gorgeous kids.

If that’s what they want to do then I think it’s great. I certainly understand the need for a female bonding experience (mother/daughter) and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. If they can take a precious little child with unfortunate circumstances and welcome them into their family unit, I say, go for it. It’s a win-win situation as far as I’m concerned.

Who is to decide of who is worthy to adopt a child, and who isn’t? I have no doubt that Victoria and David love their boys more than anything else in the world. I believe Victoria would make a great mommy for any little girl (no doubt it would be a girl for her) so I’d be very happy if this rumour turned out to be true. And why do so many celebrities choose to adopt lately…? Maybe that has to do with them being more and more aware of what really matters in life (through the positive example of others), and of the huge difference they can make to another person’s life. Some say that celebrities can adopt so easily because of their money… well I wouldn’t want things to be more difficult for them. I just wish the rest of us had it so easy! I mean, how many women fall pregnant by accident, and are less than 100% happy about it – nobody judges them or asks, are they fit to be mothers? And on the other side, there are people who want nothing more than to have a child, to be someone’s mommy or daddy, and those are treated almost like criminals, are under constant suspicion, nervously eyed by the authoroties, interviewed again and again, no leaf remains unturned and the whole process takes years. It’s insane, really.

Victoria is not jumping into anything. She’s not adopting. Like her spokeperson said, she has respect for people who adpot but she said she’s not ready for another baby just yet since Cruz is still little and they have a lot of things to do at the moment like settling in LA and stuff.

i don’t think its so wrong for celebrities to want to adopt. they have the cash and the desire (obviously) to adopt..so why not let them? as someone said, it is quite expensive to adopt so i’m glad that SOMEONE is giving homes to these children!

If they want to adopt great.

I can understand the desire to share that female bond as well. But there’s always the possibility that they could have a daughter whose a total tomboy who wants nothing to do with girly things – so having a daughter isn’t always a guarantee of having those fun mother/daughter times. So I think it’s important to not have too many expectations of what life with a daughter will be like.
In any case, I do think celebrities have just as much right to adopt as anyone else, and I don’t really understand some of the negative comments being made (not necessarily just on this site, but in general) about celebrities adopting because it’s trendy. I think the biggest reason why adoption is become more common is because some of the previous stigmas are fading a bit and it’s become more accepted – and I think that’s a wonderful thing.
