CBB Exclusive: Vanna White: “I’m so fortunate to have two healthy children.”

She’s made a career turning letters on the hit NBC gameshow “Wheel of Fortune,” but Vanna White was not in my hometown of Memphis to find new contestants. Vanna came to visit the children at the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and to present them with a $215 thousand dollar check from her show. While their, Vanna spoke with the local station I work for about how fortunate she is to have two children who have never needed the services that St. Jude and other hospitals like it provide.

“I wanted to come here and touch the children…they have touched me…so HERE I AM, she said. “I’m so fortunate to have two healthy children and there are a lot of people who have healthy children, but there are a lot of people who have unhealthy children and St. Jude does so much to help them.”

Vanna also announced that she has created a new line of knitting yarn and will donate half of those proceeds to St. Jude.

“I just wish I could more, we all do…but I’ll tell you, they do such an incredible job at St. Jude and everyone knows that.”

Vanna has one son named Nicholas, born in 1994, and a daughter named Giovanna, born in 1997, with her ex-husband, George Santopietro.
