PaxWatch: Angelina Jolie expresses regret over media frenzy over her new son Pax
After an emotional introduction to his new mother, Angelina Jolie’s new son, Pax Thien Jolie, broke down in tears. Angelina feels very bad for subjecting Pax to the media frenzy and told Ho Chi Ming City Law newspaper that she’ll be dedicating herself to all of her children as a stay-at-home mom.
In a statement that may not be exactly what she said because it was translated from English into Vietnamese and back into English for the US’s Associated Press, Angelina said,
I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life. I have four children and caringfor them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am veryproud and happy to be their mother.
Photographs and press coverage will make him upset. I’mvery worried about that. I would like to say I’m sorry for bringingthis into Pax’s life.
Everyone would agree that children need to have a family.I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should Isay no?

Look, I am no big fan of Angelina Jolie and I’m sure her kids have to endure a lot from the media. But removing a child from the kind of poverty they experience in these countries is not a crime. I know everyone says she should adopt from America but people who have never been in a third world country do not understand the life these kids lead. The poorest kid in America is still well off by most of the world’s standards. She may seem odd to people but it’s at least obvious that she loves her kids. I hope all of her kids grow up to be happy productive people who can help their respective home countries.

good to see that she’s not just a face with a body guard & limousine after all. there’s definitely more substance to her and not too self-obsessed about the way she looks on camera. well done, jolie. keep doing what you’re doing –you are making an impact and contributing to a better world. there will always be people who have big chips on their shoulders & blinded by their prejudices & insecurities.

I think Pax is one of the luckiest kids out there. To have Brad and Ange welcome him into their family and provide him with the benefit of a good education, love and support from a family environment, the possibility to travel the world along with countless other opportunities.
Even though there are going to be challenges, I think Pax has been given the greatest gift of all; a chance at a better life.

Angelina shouldn’t be the one to apologize over the media frenzy. The paparazzi who chased down Angelina’s car, tried to open the car door to get pictures and posted Pax’s adoption papers on the net are the ones who should be ashamed of themselves.

I think the fact that she adopted a 3 1/2 year old as opposed to a newborn tells you that she’s in it for the child. This is not some strange obsession –she is truly committed to helping children and adding to her familyy.
