"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Allegra Versace suffering from anorexia

Tags: News

Allegra_versace180In a statement released yesterday, designer Donatella Versace confirmed that her daughter, Allegra, 20, suffers from anorexia. Donatella and Allegra’s father, Paul Beck, had this statement:

Our daughter, Allegra, has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years. She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well. As parents, we are doing our best to protect our daughter. However, due to numerous media reports, we want to let everyone know that we appreciate their concern for Allegra, and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time.

  1. Rebecca l'europeene Says:

with all the pressure europeans put on one another to be the thinnest and skinniest it is not a shock to me this girl is anorexic. In europe ur either thin or fat, there is no average i hope she gets mentally well soon.

  2. Lola Says:

I heard Allegra has been anorexic for years. I’m glad Dontella and her husband put her in the hospital. They need to get their daughter well before it’s too late.

  3. pink.lioness Says:

Sorry Rebecca but I don’t agree that Europeans put more pressure on young people to be skinny than people of other nations. At least not here in the UK. People here aren’t ‘either fat or thin’ either, the vast majority is something in between although more people tend to lean towards being slightly overweight, rather than being underweight. Of course I don’t know, where you are from.

I feel sad for Allegra. The thought, that a 20-year old has been anorexic ‘for many years’ is very scary indeed.

  4. meg Says:

I was hospitailzed with Allegra for anorexia in 1997. She was only 10 yrs old at the time. She has been battling this disease for along time and I hope one day she can beat it as I did.

  5. Aura Says:

How awful. I hope she gets better in good time.

  6. -Lauren- Says:

There was no doubt in my mind that Allegra was anorexic and has been for many years. I hope that she is able to get the help that she needs.

But at the same time, I didn’t know she was anorexic for THAT many years.

  7. ashley Says:

wonder if her being a ‘versace,’ growing up in the fashion industry, had any influence on her developing the disease?

  8. Diana Says:

Maybe now people will leave her alone because she has a serious problem. I’m sure it can’t help that people are constantly commenting about her weight.

  9. Sam Says:

Allegra has been anoreic for many years, yeah. I do hope the doctors will be able to help her: at least she has a loving and supportive family.

As for the reasons of her sickness, it looks like it started around the time her uncle was murdered, which would be no surprise since they were very close. plus, being his heiress, it might have put too much pressure on her fragile shoulders
