"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Marcia Gay Harden on Eulala’s name and costume-making

Marcia Gay Harden, who stars in The Hoax next week, co-hosted The View yesterday and briefly mentioned her children, daughter Eulala Grace, 8, and twins, son Hudson Harden and daughter Julitta Dee Harden, who will turn 3 next month, with husband, Thaddaeus Scheel.

Marcia divulged the etymology behind Eulala’s unusual name, who was named after Marcia’s grandfather’s sister.

It’s an old, old Texas name and in the beginning, it’s ‘eu’ like ‘eulogy’and it means ‘fair of speech’ and indeed she is. She can talk a lot andshe talks well.

As for her twins, the actress says they love dressing up in various costumes.

If I had time, I’d make them things. I like Eulala, she always woulddo witches. She never wanted to be pretty. She really would embrace thespirit of Halloween, as evil as she can get. And that was kind of fun.

  1. Traci Says:

How do you pronounce Eulala?? Is it Yoo-lay-la, or Yoo-la-la, or something I haven’t thought of??

  2. Kayleigh Says:

I’m assuming Yoo-lay-la…because Yoo-la-la doesn’t sound like something Marcia would name her child…Is Julitta pronounced Hoo-lee-ta?

  3. voban Says:

Hee Hee…no Julitta is pronounced :

    Joo-LEE-tah

At least that’s how we pronounced my great Aunt Julitta’s name as I was growing up.

My great Aunt (now deceased)is Marcia’s husband, Thaddeus’ Grandmother.

I thought it was so wonderful that they used her name; she was a lovely woman and made the best chocolate milk I ever had!
