“When the pain hit the roof, I had the thought that in a matter of moments I was going to be sitting and holding my baby with a big fat smile on my face - a thought that seemed ridiculous to me at the time but I knew it was true. And there we were, moments later.”

Introducing Liam Aaron McDermott

US Weekly scored the exclusive photos of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s new baby boy, Liam Aaron, 3 weeks. Tori speaks about becoming a mother, the scary birth and her reconciliation with her mother.

Details of Liam’s arrival – he was 15 days early, Tori had to have labor induced after a failure to progress, and eventually a cesarean section was performed. Tori’s water broke and the doctor decided to induce labor, which ended up lasting 17 hours. Tori said the contractions were painful but she wanted to experience it;

[It] felt like I was being Tasered. [But] as foolish as this sounds, I wanted to feel how bad it would hurt. But I think I let the pain go on a little bit long before I got the epidural.

Tori explains that when Liam’s heartrate dropped, she and Dean were told a cesarean section should be performed. And guess who the doctor was? Dr. Jason Rothbart – the same man that delivered Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

I asked Dr. Rothbart if he’d do a good job, and he said, ‘Well, Angelina didn’t complain.’ So I was like if Angelina let him do a C-section in Africa, I am ok. I felt comforted by that.

Tori went on to explain the reasons behind her reconciliation with her mother.

I’m so happy she’s back in my life. Having a child puts it all in perspective. Knowing the bond I have with Liam means I get my mom’s bond with me. Now that we’re together, we realize that there is no feud. I’m just sadthat I lost a year with my mother. When she walked through the hospital door when I was in labor,it was like I had just seen her yesterday. We both started to cry andhug.

  2. tan Says:

  3. Becky Says:

I think he looks just like Tori! They are such a cute family! I wish them all the best

  4. tink1217 Says:

awwww! he is adorable and yes, he looks like Dean!!! He is just too cute and Tori looks great!

  5. Lorus Says:

It’s kind of funny in a way that she had to have a c-section since she was quoted before about not wanting one because it would mean she wouldn’t look good in a bikini anymore.

I totally agree with her new understanding of the relationship she has with her mother. After my daughter was born I then realized how my mother feels towards me. It definitely brought us closer together.

  6. Holly K Says:

Yeah i’m so sure the baby’s heart rate decided to drop all because of a comment she didn’t think about before she said.

    ::rolls eyes::

Also, isn’t in violation of HIPPA laws for the doctor to discuss anything about his other patients with another?

  7. tan Says:

The same thing happened to me with my daughter thats now almost 8.I was due on August 28th 1999 and my dr took it upon herself to make me come in that thurs the 26th to be induced.By that evening my baby heartbeat had kept dropping and she decided to do a c-section.I realized maybe the dr wanted to do this to get me out of the way.I don’t think its bad but I don’t want to go through it again.I plan on having a third being I had choice to have one with my son.Hopefully this time around I won’t chicken out.I still can wear two pieces with the bikini cut that I have.

  8. kitskate Says:

Holly K — good call on the HIPAA laws. It’s very questionable that a reputable doctor would allow that info to slip so casually. Perhaps when the dr. said “Angelina didn’t complain” Tori assumed it was Angelina Jolie when really it was was just some Angelina Hernandez or something.
Anyway, Liam is a beautiful little boy. He will grow up being loved.

Angelina did allow him to talk to the press though – well, to People – to explain Shiloh’s breech positioning as why she had a c-section. So maybe it’s assumed that’s common knowledge now?

  9. Laura AS1 Says:

Congrats to Tori and Dean! He’s just a little angel. I know everything can be scary in the delivery room, especially for a first time mom, so I feel for her. I’m glad all turned out well, and wish them the best of luck.

  10. FC Says:

Currently, he’s the spitting image of his dad. He has his dad’s mouth and eyebrows. Seems his nose may be a Tori nose. I haven’t decided yet.

But I’m happy for Tori! :)

  11. J-LIn Says:

    Beautiful picture.

  12. Kat Says:

since it’s common knowledge he delivered her baby, and he didn’t get into medical details… just that casual “well, she didn’t complain” thing, to reassure Tori she’d be fine, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

I feel bad for Tori… I had a c/s the first time for similar reasons… but the good news is I have had 2 Vaginal births after… so hopefully she’ll get to experience that with her next baby.

  13. lucy Says:

well lets not be too harsh with the law

    im sure angelina wont mind

is that the only pic we are gettin?

There will be more photos and an article in Us Weekly, which is out today in major cities and will be out Friday everywhere else.

  14. Mrs. Rehab Says:

Congrats to the new parents! He is such a cutie!

  15. cindy Says:

Ummm…tasered?? Well…my husband says perhaps she actually does know what that feels like…=) I’m no superwoman, but I had all three of ours without any pain medication. It wasn’t a walk in the park, but tasered?? I guess we all describe things differently…

  16. JoyJoy Says:

Never had a c-section that must been hard going through labor then that. Wow. I had no pain meds at all so it felt more then a taser but hey each woman is different.

  17. ang Says:

god,i luv these types of photos. tori looks so content & liam is so precious(& lucky). the past year’s been so stressful for t & her & dean as a couple. i’m in Australia but have been watching snippet videos of their show online & it is hilarious! tori & dean co-exec-produced the series & tori definitely has her father’s creative gift when it comes to tv.they make a lovely family. Dean’s son Jack is adorable too & will be so excited to meet this new family member =)

  18. Melissa Says:

Wow! Little Liam looks so much like his Daddy. He is a beautiful baby boy. I’m so happy for Tori. I think she’ll make an excellent mother.

  19. Maritza Says:

I just love this couple! They are so sweet together and soooo real. At first I thought she was a snobby rich girl but I have been watching her show on Oxygen and actually like her. Their show is great! I’m so happy for them, Liam is beautiful.

  20. Yonni Says:

    What a cute little guy!!!

I am glad she made up with her mom. Babies put everything into perspective.

  21. Mrsgrugsplat Says:

one beautiful little Man and I am so glad she made up with her mother in time for Liam’s birth, I had my mum with me both times I gave birth and she has said itr is the most special thing she has ever done and she is so happy she was there so I hope that Candy Spelling has those same feelings and that the whole family can love eachother and grow together as a family
