Mary Cheney and partner expecting first child – a boy

Update: Dick Cheney reveals that Mary and Heather are expecting a son, and he will be born next month.

Originally posted December 6th: The Washington Post reports that the Vice President’s daughter Mary Cheney, 37, and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, are expecting a baby. Mary is carrying the child, but besides that circumstances of the pregnancy will remain private. The baby is due is late spring.

This will be the sixth grandchild for Dick and Lynne Cheney, who released a statement through their spokeswoman last night, saying, "The vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth grandchild."

Despite what you may have read on other sites, Mary is the only Cheney child currently expecting. For some reason, it is also being reported that Elizabeth is also pregnant and due next July – however, this is untrue. They’re referring to the birth of her son Richard over the summer.
