Anaheim Ducks goaltender tends to ill newborn son
Anaheim Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere took a leave of absence from the team for the weekend to tend to his ill newborn son, Maxime Oliver. The Ducks released the following statement:
Jean-Sebastien and his wife Kristen are dealing with an issue of much greater importance than hockey games. Our entire organization supports them during this difficult time and asks that their privacy be respected.
Maxime reportedly does not have a life-threatening condition, though it is serious. Jean-Sebastien is expected to return to work on Monday.
