Trading Spaces’ Laurie Hickson-Smith welcomes a daughter
In better late than never news, Trading Spaces designer Laurie Hickson-Smith and her husband Brad welcomed their second child back in November. Daughter India Dawson, now 5 months, joins older brother Gibson Witherspoon, 4 1/2.
India’s first name is in honor of Laurie’s great-grandmother, and Dawson is Laurie’s mother’s maiden name. (Gibson’s names are in honor of Brad’s great-grandfather.)

YAY for Laurie! I love the name–it’s unique but not WEIRD…Sarah Mclachlan’s daughter’s name as well =) I know her and Brad do family names…I loved Gibson’s name and India is gorgeous as well =)) And I can’t wait to see pics of the little one…I wonder if she’s be a red head =)) Congrats to Laurie, Brad, and Gibson on their new addition to the family!

Love you on Trading Spaces! I was pretty sure you were carrying a girl this pregnancy and was happy to find a site to tell me so. Keep up the good work on Trading Spaces.

Im glad to hear that she had a daughter and she picked such a unique name. Does she have a personal website? Ive watched her over the years and love to see what new ideas she’s come up with and to see how she puts colors and patterns together, that one might have thought would never work. Thank you
