"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Paz Vega on her pregnancy

Tags: News

Spanish actress Paz Vega, 31, spoke to EPS Magazine about her pregnancy with her son Orson, who is due to make his debut in May. Here are the highlights:

On how she chose her doctor: Paz interviewed OB/GYNs in both the US in Spain. She chose Dr. Vidal in Madrid, because, ‘He gave me confidence. He allows births to be as natural as possible and with minimal medical intervention. We all [referring to women] have to give birth. I trust the doctors.

Having said that, if
the baby is big, I think I will get that epidural. [She laughs.] My
friends say that it’s a wonderful experience to be both an observer and
an active participant at your birth, without it [the epidural] you
focus too much on the pain.

It would be ideal to have hospitals
dedicated only to birthing. A pregnant woman is not someone suffering
from an illness. To give birth [in the same building as] people
that are dying sounds like a contradiction.’

On how her pregnancy is going: I am doing well. This last month has been a lot more difficult because
my belly is starting to really weigh me down. I get tired if I am on my feet for long. Since I am so happy and
overjoyed, the illusion over what is to come keeps me going even when
the energy is not there.

On how she will combine motherhood and work: Everything will be the same as before.
When you have a baby, it affects you for the good. I don’t think
motherhood is something that will clip my wings or anything of the
sort. It’s like squaring a circle*… this is not going to shorten my
career or projects but instead give everything meaning.

*In the chat Paz uses the term la ‘cuadratura del circulo.’ According to Wikipedia: ‘In Spanish, the expression “descubriste la cuadratura del círculo”
is often used to derisively dismiss claims that someone has found a
simple solution to a particularly hard or intractable problem.’
