Steal That Look, Forty Weeks Style: Charlotte Church
by Julia Beck, of Forty Weeks
Charlotte Church wore a bold black and white bandeau strapless dress by Homemummy for her televised Good Friday concert last week. The 21 year old star showed off her curves in a very finished and feminine frock! This was a good look for Charlotte – she was all woman in this well proportioned dress which is available at Kick, the London-based maternity retailer ($345).
Kick Maternity owner, Tara has only a few of these dresses left. And she has offered $100 gift certificate towards the purchase of any of the fabulous fashions at the European bump hotspot – Kick to one Celebrity Baby Blog reader!

Here is what to keep in mind when stealing Charlotte Church’s look, Forty Weeks Style.
- A strapless bandeau top dress is not for the overly busty – look for support features including a lining or built in bra, regardless of your size.
- Consider a modified version – with straps or a halter to create a more modest look (and allow for support garments, such as a bra).
- The drape of the dress is very forgiving for late pregnancy (think bump major!) but may swallow up certain figures too early on.
- Layer! This is an ideal piece to pair with anything from a shrug, cardi or even a great denim jacket. Just keep it short and in proportion.
Steal That Look Forty Weeks Style: A Beautiful Bandeau
A strapless (or modified) bandeau top dress is a kicky addition to your maternity wardrobe. It will be especially comfortable as a late pregnancy staple! Choose color and pattern as it suits your fancy. And don’t limit how you wear it – use short cut shrugs and jackets to finish and even alter the look (and keep you warm on cool summer nights).
The Flutter Dress by Maternal America is a great choice in a modified bandeau dress (pictured left). This neutral toned dress features extraordinary design elements such as lace detailing at the hem, which is the signature of designer Nataline Ngo, founder of Maternal America. I also like the bra-compatible full coverage straps for comfortable and easy wear ($148).
From Rock Star Momma author (coming in June, stay tuned), celebrity mom, and Childish Clothing designer, Skye Hoppus, comes this little black and while polka dot number with lots of personality (pictured right)! Skinny halter straps keep this look in place and dress you up for fun! And what’s better – this one is on sale!Sale priced at ($75).
Meet Me in Miami’s hot pink strapless bandeau drape front dress (also available in black) is the easy to wear favorite of haute mamas to be in the know! The dress is designed to flatter with full drape details, slightly longer front cut and a bust line gather that makes the most of your pregnancy bod($128).
