What Happened When Julie Bowen’s Water Broke
Julie Bowen literally worked until the last minute on
Boston Legal when she went into labor. Co-star
William Shatner recounts the hectic atmosphere on set Tuesday night.
Her little muscles contracted until the scene was over, and ‘Bang!’ Her water broke. I followed the trail for as long as I could and then I lost it.
Julie gave birth to her first child, son Oliver McLanahan, with husband Scott Phillips later that night.

I was x-mas shopping and standing in line at the toy store. I was the third one from the register. X-mas eve you know how the lines are, so the water is trickling down my leg no pain, what made it worse was I had an hour before I had to meet my then boyfriend, no cell phones so I couldn’t contact him. Finally met up with him, told him my water broke and we went home. I wrapped presents, ironed my clothes, packed my bag and rode 45 minutes to CT (I was in NY)dropped off my presents and finally went to the hospital to deliver on Christmas Day a beautiful baby girl who is now 11.

My water broke at church while I was preparing the Vacation Bible School supper. I wasn’t anywhere near done yet, so I kept right on cooking. My contractions finally go unbearable, so I left the cleaning up to others and my husband drove me to the hospital, our daughter was born 15 min. after we walked in the door at the hospital.
