Rod Stewart thinks Ruby could be successful – if she had more motivation
Singer Rod Stewart, 62, is disappointed. He has seven children – Sarah, 41, Kim, 27, Sean, 26, Ruby, 19, Renee, 14, Liam, 12, and Alastair, 16 months – but only one of them inherited dad’s vocal talents, and she doesn’t want to use them! Rod said,
Ruby seems to be the only one of my children who has some kind of singing talent. But unlike me when I started, she’s not hungry at all, unfortunately. She lives with me, drives a big Land Rover and has everything she wants. She’s just 19 but she doesn’t burn for anything. But it’s precisely that hunger that you need, that ambition to go out and make it. Without it, you won’t succeed.

“She lives with me, drives a big Land Rover and has everything she wants. She’s just 19 but she doesn’t burn for anything.”
He hit the nail on the head with that comment. Of course your child is not going have that passion to do something when everything is handed to them!
If I drove a big Land Rover, lived rent free and had everything I wanted, I wouldn’t want to do anything either. Not having those things makes me want to work my ass off so I can achieve them.
Perhaps he’ll learn with Alistair that to motivate kids, you need to make them work for it.

i partially agree with what devon said and also partially i am 25 and when i started college/uni, i had people around me who still didn’t know what they wanted out of life. give her a couple of years n maybe she’ll come around.

Yeah, maybe if Daddy didn’t hand everything over to her she would be driven to do something with her life. I always liked Rod Stewart but don’t be an idiot. Make your kids go out and earn their living. They will appreciate things so much more.

NONE of his children have a “burning ambition” or any ambition at all!! They all seem to only party all night, sleep until noon and shop the rest of the day and start all over again. What kind of life is that? No wonder they all have used and/or still use drugs. What a waste of space.

Seriously, Rod, get a clue! Why should she work or have ambition when she has nothing to strive for?
I don’t know about his other children, but Kimberly & Sean have proven (in the media) to be thoughtless individuals – Sean with his disgusting behavior on that horrible show of his, and Kimberly with her nasty “Jennifer Aniston is homely” comment post Brad divorce. I’d be happy to never hear from or about them again.

A lot of 19-year olds don’t know what they
want to do for a career because there are so
many choices today. But being from a wealthy
family and having so much could contribute
to her current lack of ambition. I am sure
she will develop her passion eventually. She
is still quite young.
