Rumor: Rapper Master P’s son to play for USC basketball team
Media Take Out is reporting that rapper/producer Master P’s son, a rapper himself, Lil Romeo will forgo his rapping career for a chance to play college basketball at the University of Southern California, where he has received a full scholarship. Romeo will take his father’s support with him as he embarks on this chapter in his life. The music mogul shared his enthusiasm by saying,
USC is a great school and I felt like he made a great decision … it’s just great for [Romeo].
The 6 foot tall Beverly Hills High School student reportedly averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 assists a game this past basketball season. Says his best friend and future teammate Demar Derozan,
He’s no gimmick. He can play and is going to be one of the top point guards in the 2008 class.
According to the Daily News, Romeo will most likely not accept the scholarship due to he and his family’s wealth.

The one kid who absolutely didn’t need a full scholarship!! It should have been given to someone in need!
He’s not accepting it though, as the post says.

Wow, good for Romeo! I applaud Master P, whose birth name is Percy Miller, for emphasizing the importance of education and other activities outside of show business for his son.
For Romeo to have been awarded a full scholarship, obviously based on merit and not financial need, tells me that he must be a pretty good player. I wish him well in his studies at USC.
