Introducing Art Honore Lewis

Australian radio personality, Kate Langbroek, from morning Nova radio station, and husband Peter Lewis, welcomed their third child on February 3rd. The little boy, Art Honore Lewis arrived at 11.08am and weighed in at 3.7kg. Art is welcomed by big brother Lewis Jan (yep, that’s Lewis Lewis), 3 and big sister, Sunday Lilly, 23 months. Kate and Peter spoke to OK magazine and posed for some cute photos.

How is Kate feeling after the pregnancy and birth?

Relieved, Art was three weeks early. I’d never had that ‘over it’ feeling in my pregnancies before, but boy did I have it this time! During the last month I had a thousand types of discomfort and I kept having those self-indulgent, pitiful moments when you think, ‘I can’t do this anymore!’ but then Art arrived and I forgot all that.

The last few weeks were tough; Art was breech and Kate was uncomfortable.

Art was breech, which is why I was so uncomfortable. I had his head jammed up under my rib cage and his feet cog-dancing on my ovaries!

Kate had a cesarean and Peter was present.

Oh yeah, Kate had a cesarean and was really relaxed and chatting away. Lewis and Sunday were also cesareans and she was more anxious then. I have to admit to some nerves, but I was excited, too. Kate went into the theater half an hour before me and then it all happened so quickly. The next thing you know you have a baby.

Kate’s take on the birth.

It was quite jolly in the operating room and I just think I was more mentally prepared this time. The nurse put up a screen and the next minute they dangled this gorgeous baby over the top.

Lewis and Sunday’s reactions to Art.

From the moment Lewis saw Art he couldn’t stop smiling. He’s been so gentle with him, which surprised me because he was a bit rough with Sunday. He clonked her with the remote control a few times! They both ran to the bed to see him – but Sunday got over it quickly. But now they have to have a turn cuddling him. Sunday just says ‘turn, turn, turn’ and puts her arms out. Lewis gets into bed when I feed Art in the morning and we all have a cuddle.

And Kate is back to work already.

I’ve done it twice before so there are no surprises. Art is noisier to feed though. I fed the other two on air – I don’t know if I’ll be able to do that with him. Art goes down to sleep about 9pm and wakes at 3am for a feed. So I feed him then, and then I shower and get ready for work. One of the girls from Nova collects me and stays with Art while I’m on air. He’s cuddled for three hours every morning.

Any more babies?

No I’m shutting up shop!

Kate will be known to many Australians as the woman who controversially breastfed Lewis on-air, while on the television talk show The Panel, when he was a baby.

    Lewis Lewis?

  2. Alicia Says:

Don’t they stop to think that these children will have to go through the rest of thier life with these names. I guess that is just my opinion. They are cute kids though.

  3. Emily Says:

What an adorable family! So cute.

  4. J.M. Says:

    cute kids, awful names!

  5. Tabby Griffin Says:

what a perfect little family, the kids are absoloutely gorgeous…i quite like the names, especially sunday!!

I would have to agree with the majority here. Kids get teased unmercilously over names, naming a child is a big deal something one shouldn’t be taken lightly. Thank goodness the child could one day legally change their names as they get older.

Lewis Lewis? Today we have something called baby name books (interesting read) more than likely some of these kids will resent their parents for their “interesting” “unusual” “something you don’t hear often” choice. While Sunday Lilly actually sounds nice. Too bad for her brothers though.

When you name a baby its a good idea to say the whole name aloud. If it doesn’t sound nice and flowing chances are people are going to be huh? Like for instance Sophie Stephanie while they are nice names apart they don’t flow well together

Daisy, Alicia, and J.M. hit it right on the nail.

  7. Lilybett Says:

I think Lewis Lewis is a lot better than trashy made-up names… we call them Jerry-Springer names… or really stupid spellings (think Jorja, Kodee or Jaymy). I think it’s better to have a titter about the name than to be constantly having to respell it for people.

  8. JudeW Says:

Well, it’s a bit peculiar, but I don’t mind the names.

I ALWAYS have to spell my last name. Nobody knows how to pronounce it either. You live with it. It’s not a first name, but still.

I prefer this family’s names for their kids 1000 times more than all the trillions of Catherines, Katrins, Kates, Christines, Carolines, Katies.. Sorry, but boring!

In any way Sunday, Lewis and Art are all very cute! They could later create a band together and call themselves “Lewis and the Sunday Art”.. lol
