"It’s funny how life never works out the way you planned it, but it always works out far better than you ever could have imagined. At least for me it seems."

"There's nothing fun about the age they're at right now. Each one on their own is insanely fun, but the combination of the two of them after hours is just chaos. I don't remember the last time I slept like a human being. Right now it's just brother-waking-up-brother, which is really the nightmare. "

Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell on motherhood and her son C.J.

Tags: News, Quotes

In a recent interview with website Lost Crazy, Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell opened up about her son C.J., 19 months, and how motherhood has actually helped her in her acting career. When asked how prior roles prepared her for playing Juliet, Elizabeth credited being a mom, saying,

Having a baby helped me. It’s about getting to a place where I am unafraid as an actress.

And on ‘coming across as a mommy talking to a young child’ in the audition for the role of Juliet in Lost, she said,

I don’t think I ever talk to C.J. the way I talk to Jack. But I do think in that particular case it was effective.

While talking about her character, Juliet, Elizabeth discussed how she’s not very good at keeping quiet around paparazzi. She is always getting recognized out in public for playing Juliet.

I always have C.J. on my hip and I’m walking around. I’m not ever quite as still as Juliet.

Nevertheless, it seems that Elizabeth was perfect for this role, she has been an avid Lost watcher since the beginning:

Back then I was pregnant. And I was not a particularly great pregnant woman. I really didn’t have patience for anything.

    Baby Blog..

Elizabeth has her son in 2004.

She worked with Angelina Jolie in 1997, and the two haven’t seen each other since. I think the article is misleading.

Sarah’s note: I agree that the bit about Angelina is incorrect, now that I’ve looked at the interview. I will correct Tara’s post. I’m not sure what you mean about her son being born in 2004 though, since he was born in September 2005.
