Court rejects Virgie Arthur’s appeal; birth certificate officially changed
Although permission had been granted Wednesday for Larry Birkhead to bring his daughter Dannielynn, 7 1/2 months, home to the US, Anna Nicole Smith’s mother Virgie Arthur filed a last-ditch appeal yesterday to attempt to prohibit the father and daughter from leaving. Today, the judge tossed out the appeal, saying that he, ‘is perplexed why this matter is before us’ and charging Virgie $3,000 in attorney fees for wasting the court’s time. After court, Larry remarked,
This whole thing wasn’t necessary. It was an expensive day for her. In a sense, I guess I got a divorce from Virgie for the child I didn’t know we had together…I hate that I have to come here for such nonsense. I have family that want to see the baby too, but they’re not here fighting me.
Howard K. Stern said,
I’m going to miss Dannielynn a lot, but I’m very happy [with] the result today, I’m very happy for Larry. Virgie has made outrageous statements about me, about being concerned with Dannielynn’s safety with me, and the appeal was asking to have Dannielynn stay in the Bahamas with me. You really have to question the motives.
I’m going to help Larry out in any way that I can, and if it takes years in the United States, I’ll do it. I am hopeful that everything will be taken out of the media so she can live as normal life as possible.
In other news, the amended birth certificate has been filed, and Larry was going to pick up Dannielynn’s passport today. He joked,
Of course, since I’m a photographer, I had to take the [passport] picture too. She’s very well lit!

Wheeeeee!! I’m so happy for them. I sure hope that [insert various obscenities here] Virgie’s humiliated enough to finally butt out! Larry and Howard have been handling this whole thing with such dignity.

As long as there is a chance in hell that the baby will inherit, that grandmother ( I use the term loosely) will never go away.
It is just really pathetic. She no more care for that baby than she did her grandson and his mother. She is truly a parasite.
I am very overjoyed that there seems to be closer ahead for this darling baby girl. I obviously don’t know Larry but he seems to know what he is doing. Kudos Larry. Let Virgie eat your dust!

I am so very overjoyed that Larry will finally be able to take his gorgeous baby girl, Dannielynn (by the way, she looks so much like Larry) home to see his ailing dad and the rest of the family. He seems to have a wonderful, loving family and Dannielynn will fit right in and be loved by them all. I hope Larry’s dad gets well.
Larry stay healthy. Virgie has put you through “Hell.” What is wrong with that woman?!? She wants the money, not precious Dannielynn. That is so obvious. Don’t let that baby near her or the rest of Virgie’s unstable family. They are not wrapped too tight. Good luck to you and to Howard K. Stern. He has taken excellent care of your baby girl. I believe HIKS is a good man. The media and people accused him of such bad things and I don’t believe any of them. He loved Anna, Daniel and Dannielynn. I also remember Anna always saying that HKS was her best friend. I believe that!

Geez! I wish Virgie would’ve just stayed hidden in whatever dark hole she’d been hiding in for all these years. She’s doing herself no favors right now, not that she seems to give two figs about what she’s doing. I’m just glad that Howard is looking out for Dannielynn as well. Larry is going to need all the help and support he can get with this nut of a woman.
