Bryce Dallas Howard on motherhood and Theo’s name
Spider-Man 3 star Bryce Dallas Howard gushes to USA Weekend about her son Theo, 2 months, with husband, actor Seth Gabel.
I know how it sounds, but having Theo is truly miraculous. It’s almost surreal, the whole idea of bringing another person into the world.
As for her son’s name, Bryce says she thumbed through baby name books to find the perfect one for her little guy.
‘Theo’ means ‘gift from God.’

I wonder what his full name is, or if it’s just “Theo” Gabel. So many times “Theo” is a nickname for Theodore and I wonder if he has a middle name. I know Ron Howard’s kids’ middle names are all in tribute to the places they were conceived! I was curious to see if Bryce Dallas (yes, that’s where she was conceived) Howard would preserve that “tradition”. ♥ ;c)

She’s wrong, Theo doesn’t mean “gift from God” but only “God”, it’s Theodore which means “gift from God”…

Actually, Theodore means ‘gift of God’. Theo is the part that means ‘God’. Most baby name books are notoriously unreliable.
