Amanda Peet, Jen Meyer, Frances and Ruby have lunch
Actress Amanda Peet, 35, and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, 29, brought their daughters out to lunch in NYC earlier today.
Ruby Sweetheart, 5 1/2 months, hung out in mom’s arms in baby JaR’s girl’s animal instinct blanket in zebra/fuschia ($72 +$6 for monogram). while Frances Pen, 2 months, is cuddled in JJ Cole Premaxx Sling Carrier-New Edition Black/Gray ($50 and free shipping). (For a more comfortable fit, cup the sling around your shoulder rather than having it up against the neck – ouch!
Danielle adds: I didn’t like this baby carrier – I really felt like we were putting Anya in a bag, whereas other slings fit the baby better since you get one for your size. With this carrier, you cinch the drawstring to make it tighter and the strap is too narrow to distribute the weight evenly.)

I had one like hers and hated it. My son is just 5 months, and I’d like to find one where he can sit/be upright while I wear him. He weighs 24 lbs and is 28 inches long. Any help?
Sarah’s note: Yeah, either of the two mentioned above (you do a hip carry – that’s how I tote the baby I nanny for) – or Ergo carriers are fantastic too. So are mei-tais…I prefer the Ergo because I like the click belt instead of a soft-tie, but CatBird baby mei-tais I wear a lot too for back carries…can you tell I like babywearing?

Its looks like Amanda Peet stuffed her baby in a backpack! I really don’t like that thing.

I really want to love babywearing! I know NOBODY who does, and it just looks great. I’m ready to try, thanks

Oh my goodness, I thought Amanda was carrying a purse before you posted that it was a sling for her baby! Hah! That does not look comfortable at all for a 2 month old (or even a newborn!). I never had a carrier or sling for my daughter (now 2 1/2), however I am seriously considering getting a peanut shell (or 2) or a hotsling for my son when he comes. Wish I would have known about “babywearing” before!

I love the Ultimate Baby Wrap – can be found at Target. I’ve tried many and it’s my favorite, versitile and comfy. $40.
I keep looking at this picture and thinking WHAT IN THE WORLD? I’m sure she means well, but oh my goodness, that is not natural.

Ruby is so cute, she looks a lot like Tobey.

I actually have several slings/carriers including the peanut shell, new native, baby bjorn and infantino, and this is the ONLY one my daughter tolerated. My daughter’s name is also Frances, so maybe baby Frances’ just like this sling. haha. Some baby’s just don’t like to be “worn”. At about three months, she loved the “kangaroo” hold.

I received a Baby JaR blanket in a “Giraffe and Sage” combo along with their amazing burp cloths that are so stylish and are the most absorbant that I have used. What a great new company this is and they have such fun products!

I was so EXCITED to see that Ruby has the same blanket that my daughter has! It is by far her favorite blanket,so soft and cuddly.
Hats off to Baby JaR for putting something new out there!
