Tobey Maguire’s co-stars rave about Ruby

Even though she was not in attendance, 5 1/2-month-old Ruby Maguire stole the spotlight at the New York City premiere of Spider-Man 3 on Monday — and she apparently has stolen the hearts of several of her father’s co-stars, as well.  The first child for actor Tobey Maguire and fiancee Jennifer Meyer, Ruby is a "happy little baby" according to actress Rosemary Harris, who plays Aunt May.

We’ve been at all these airports — Tokyo, Rome, Berlin, Paris, London — and I can’t remember which one it was, but (Ruby) was there all dimpled.  She looks like Tobey.

Ruby also made quite an impression on actor James Franco, who plays Harry Osborn in the film.  Calling her "a very sweet baby," Franco raved not only about Ruby, but about her profound impact on Tobey, himself.

I’ve known Tobey about six or seven years, and to see him grow over those years, I’m really proud of him.  He seems like he’s an excellent dad.  He’s completely consumed with that child.

The young family has circled the globe together to promote Spider-Man 3, a team effort that impressed Rosemary, who noted that — although an infant — Ruby "seems to be traveling well."  Having a baby on the tour has been "lovely," Rosemary said, adding that it is "wonderful that they’re bringing Ruby with them."  Tobey agrees that the whirlwind trip has been a success.

We’ve been all over the world, and it’s just been great to have my family with me.
