For some reason I had a feeling that she was with her Mom and not her Dad when she got that hair done. Doesn’t seem like something Tom would allow to happen :-X

This is jmo, but I think it looks gross. I have never understood why people feel the desire to dye their hair an unnatural color (blue, green, etc). Is it rebellion? A form of self-expression? And if so, why does someone feel the need to put blue streaks in their order in order to express themselves? I really am curious, as I don’t know anyone personally who has done this to their hair.

The cut is cute! Don’t care for the blue streaks…maybe because I could never get away with it lol. She’s young, so it’s acceptable for her to experiment
May 5th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
She’s young, away from her creepy dad, I’ll forgive the hair streaks.
She is really growing up cute! Poor thing had to endure that akward stage in the paps camera lense.

Okay, as someone with purple bangs, let me give one reason why some people dye their hair: because its fun, and we can. I never wanted to dye my hair, ever, but a friend said, “Let’s do your bangs purple.” So we did. My hair is naturally dark brown, and its not a bold bright purple, so you can hardly tell. Its just enough so that people turn around and say, “Oh, wait!! Are your bangs PURPLE?!”

It’s so nice that her mom lets her experiment with harmless things like dying your hair… it’s the fun part of growing up! She is a beautiful girl!

Who do Connor and her actually live with most of the time? Tom? You rarely ever see them with their mom these days.
And her hair matches her shirt.
May 5th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
I really like her hair. its fun and its great that her mom let her experiment….its just hair, at least she has no strange piercings on her face.

I dont see anything wrong with it. But in my oppinion, I dont think that blue is right for her dark hair color. She should have used a bright intense color like red. Ive dyed my hair blue, green, orange, fushia highlights and had red highlights before Lauren. The reason I do it is b/c I like being different and like tring something different than what others do.

Her cut is adorable and I love her blue streaks!
May 5th, 2007 at 2:00 pm
She’s 14 already? Last time I checked she was 12! Wow. I know she’s adopted, but does anyone else think she looks a bit like Tom?
May 5th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Lauren, it’s easy – lots of teenies go to great lenghts to do stuff they think might shock their parents and people around them… some dye their hair, others wear lots of make up, ’strange’ clothes, some (slightly older teens) might even get a piercing or a tattoo, especially when they think the parents won’t approve. Or they sneak a cigarette behind the garage with their mates. It’s all about growing up and proving to themselves and to others that they are becoming independent and are now old enough to make their own decisions. ‘I do what I want’, ‘you can’t tell me what to do’, ‘you can’t control me’ are all sentences every parent of a teenager will have heard a hundred times! They are halfways grown up, but feel totally grown up and just try to distance themselves to the child they used to be. Luckily, that phase doesn’t last forever or most parents would probably end up in the nuthouse
Didn’t you do stuff when you were a teenager?
Or maybe I got it wrong and Isabella just likes her hair that way *lol*

I am not sure Tom Cruise knows about this. He could be leaarning about it from the internet like the rest of us. If Nicole knows and allowed her to do this, then it is Nicole who wants attention from Cruise badly. The cut is cute though.
May 5th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
I think it’s great. Whatever, she’s 14 and she’s expressing her individuality. Isabella’s growing up and this is all just part of working out what kind of person she wants to be when she ‘has’ to be responsible.
May 5th, 2007 at 3:11 pm
For all those people who hate the hair color, and say you can’t understand. I’ll tell you why I did it. I’m 18 and I’ve been dying my hair many unnatural colors for years now. Why? Because I can. Because my hair is not who I am, it is merely something fun for me to experiment with. I also have a lip ring, but no tattoos. Again, Why? Because piercings like lip rings are also temporary. The hole will close in a matter of days.
And none of this is rebellion or proving myself, my mom is totally ok with what I do, because she trusts me and respects that this is me.
So what does it matter? It doesn’t. The only trouble that I’ve ever had with my appearance is when people judge me based on my hair color rather than on my personality. I’m not a rebel or a horrible kid, in fact, I will be attending an Ivy League University in the fall. So to all those who hate dyed hair or who chalk it up to rebellion, maybe try to accept a little more?
May 5th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
I really don’t see what the debate is here…she’s a teenager who wants to express herself…she put some blue streaks in her hair–and i think it looks great…she’s really a very pretty young lady =)) And ya know it’s nice that her mom lets her express herself that way–she’s obviously a very well adjusted girl and enjoys being her own person–teenagers do it and I say, more power to her =) Oh and I love the cut of her hair as well =)

I’m glad Bella is with Nicole and it’s good that Nicole allows her to experiment with her looks. I’m sure living with Tom is so regimented and controlled, it’s a relief to be able to do something different. She’s only 14 and she’s on vacation! It’s not like the color is permanent or she can’t change it. I’m just happy to see Nicole asserting herself as a mother and spending some time with her daughter. I was annoyed by Jada Smith’s descriptin of “Kate’s kids: Connor, Bella and Suri”.. as far as I’m concerned, “Kate” has only one child.
May 5th, 2007 at 3:43 pm
I really dont get why her dying her hair blue got anything to do with Tom being creepy? Seriously any reason to mock Tom eh?
She looks cute! She’s growing up to a beauitful young lady.
May 5th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
So she dyed her hair a bit blue. So what? It’s not like she got a tattoo on her forehead! She’s a teen, I have friends in their 30s who still dye their hair in neon colours and use extentions. They are fans of goth music, electronica and such. I am a metalhead myself.
Considering the fact that she’s wearing a Ramones t-shirt, I don’t find this a bit odd. So she’s probably a fan of punk rock. Good for her. Ramones were great back in the days when they were alive and kickin’! It’s not exactly the end of the world ha she’s gotten herself a style she’s probably comfortable with. It’s her own thing, let her have it.
May 5th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
There is nothing wrong with having a few blue streaks. I would understand what the fuss would be about if she dyed ALL her hair blue!
The cut looks great on her!

I think you are being too harsh to Nicole. And, why would people think that Tom would not allow his daughter to do this.No one knows! Nicole does not have to call up Tom and say “Is this okay?” Especially, if it is about hair!
May 5th, 2007 at 6:51 pm
I am the mother of three teenage daughters. When it comes to teenagers you have to pick your battles.
May 5th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
I love the cut on her, but the blue streaks? not the best colour, Red or Purple would have been better. But if you look at her top its black then you get to her hands and the nail polish is black? Is bella turning Emo or gothic??
May 5th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
OMG Isabella looks totally cute. Her haircut is awesome and very becoming on her. Kudos to her stylist. The streaks are adorable… I’m glad she is doing normal teenage rites. I had my hair dyed when I was 16 for the first time.

I think it’s cute though I think a deeper blue would look better. But hey — why not? It’s hair dye. It either washes out or can be dyed over, and hair will grow out. She’s a teenager, she’s experimenting. Heck, I’d streak my hair blue too if I didn’t think I’d get fired!
May 5th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
I’m 28 years old and I still dye my hair “unnatural” colors. Why? It isn’t rebellion. Yes..it is a form of expression. Color makes me happy. I have never felt comfortable having “natural” color hair. But when I add some Magenta, purple or fire engine red streaks in my hair. I feel like myself. It makes me happy and that’s all that it is about. I couldn’t care less what people thought of my hair..it isn’t their hair. I also have tattoos and piercings. I’m also a mom. I believe in expressing yourself no matter what it is or how old you are. If you are happy with yourself then that is all that matters. I personally think those that tend to make comments about other people’s choices of expression(hair color, tattoos, piercings..etc)are just unhappy with themselves in some way. They are too afraid to stray away from conformity so, they lash out at those that do.
Let the girl express herself. She looks cute!

Man, even THIS has to turn into “bash tom”??
Tom is a scientologist, and scientologists actually believe children are just little adults in little bodies. They are treated maturely and responsibly(almost to a fault) from the very beginning. Tom treats his daughter like an adult and expects her to act like one. Adults are always searching, always creating. Tom is a creative person, and I see NO reason why he would object to Bella coloring her hair any way she wants.
In an interview a few years ago, Tom said he had let his kids paint their rooms any color they wanted. Tom’s son Connor painted his ENTIRE room camoflauge. I cant remember what they said for Bella, but does that sound like a controlling father to you??
May 6th, 2007 at 12:28 am
i like isabella’s look, because it seems like she’s been allowed to express herself, and that’s a pretty shade of blue.
everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but I’d be forgiving of a 14-year-old with less than perfect hair colouring. I definitely did not know that colours did/didn’t complement my “skin tone” when I was 14.
I can say, from experience, that there is an extra danger in oppressing an adopted child. We already struggle so much with our identity. If it’s true that Isabella wants to live with her mother, I hope that happens for her, because it appears her mom is more open-minded.
May 6th, 2007 at 3:35 am
I like her hair!
She’s looks very relaxed and happy…
May 6th, 2007 at 11:17 am
actually, I think she looks like Nicole…especially around the mouth….
May 6th, 2007 at 11:29 am
She looks so cute! How nice to be spending time with her mom and having some teenage freedom. I hope she stays with Nicole.
May 6th, 2007 at 12:42 pm
Wow Isabella is growing up fast. Love the haircut and even the dye! It could be worse she could be experimenting with drugs…it’s only hair. It probably washes out anyways. If little Maddox can have highlights why can’t a 14 yr old girl. She’s just finding who she is and I think that’s great. Go Bella!
May 6th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
Ok, I have had my hair coloured, propper term, instead of dying, becuase you don’t kill your hair, many times, and have been orange, ronald mcdonald red, purple. I have had yellow and pink streaks put in, but right now it is my natural which is very dark brown, with golden highlights in. I got sick three years ago, while it will be three years on Tuesday, I stopped colouring my hair all together, but only in February got it redone. I like her hair, and it is a right as a teenager to experiment with hair colour. If you can’t tell by my spelling of colour, I AM CANADIAN!!
May 6th, 2007 at 11:50 pm
I think it’s great that Isabella has finally found some freedom to do what every other 14-year-old get to do: dye their hair for fun!!!
May 7th, 2007 at 6:25 am
Wow, wow, wow…I know it’s been said before but what ’s the fuss all about? When I look at the pics, I see a teenage girl who seems healthy and happy.Isn’t it all that matters?I really don’t care what she does with her hair: she’s no alcohol or drug addict, and you don’t see her in tabloids for bad reasons, which is always a great achievement for the daughter of two huge stars. Kudos to BOTH Nicole and Tom for raising their kids so they hopefully won’t turn into the Lohan/hilton style.
May 7th, 2007 at 9:10 am
She just got her hair cut alot of places have temporary colors for hair. Who knows it could just wash right out.
May 7th, 2007 at 9:50 am
when I see a girl that age with any kind of streaks in her hair of a color not typically used on hair… I just go… YAY!! a teenager being a teenager!!
I remember coloring my hair with kool-aid and comb-in and spray colors…
why not?
You’re only young once.
And at that age, you’re starting to look like an adult, but you’re not… so why not experiment with your look in a way that will also let people know you are still a kid?
I’m sure neither Tom or Nicole would challenge each other’s rules…
Kudos to them for allowing Isabella her independence.
May 7th, 2007 at 10:02 am
Love the cut and the streaks. Seems a very harmless (and temporary) form of self-expression. It’s only hair y’all!
May 7th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
justjared has i new pic of her leaving with Nicole and the streaks are already gone or faded so much you cant even see them.
